NBC and NBCSN to Present “PBC on NBC” Featuring 20 Live Boxing Shows in 2015
Al Michaels to Host “PBC on NBC” Debut Show, Saturday, March 7 Live in Primetime on NBC
All Shows to Be Streamed Live on NBC Sports Live Extra
STAMFORD, Conn. – January 14, 2015 – NBC Sports Group has reached a multi-year agreement to televise the new Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series, it was announced today.
Beginning with the first show, Saturday, March 7, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, NBC and NBCSN will present 20 live “PBC on NBC” boxing events in 2015.
The first bouts in the “PBC on NBC” series were announced today:
March 7, 2015: Keith Thurman vs. Robert Guerrero and Adrien Broner vs. John Molina Jr.
April 11, 2015: Danny Garcia vs. Lamont Peterson
The debut of the “PBC on NBC” will be March 7, and will be hosted by Al Michaels, a seven-time Emmy Award winner and the author of a recently-released New York Times best-selling autobiography. Michaels, who called the famed championship bout between “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler and Thomas “The Hitman” Hearns 30 years ago this April, will also host subsequent primetime PBC shows on NBC.
In the coming weeks, additional “PBC on NBC” on-air personalities will be announced along with future show airdates and times for NBC and NBCSN telecasts.
Within the 20 live shows, NBC Sports Group will present more than 50 hours of PBC coverage, including NBCSN pre- and post-fight programming for NBC telecasts.
The breakdown of the 20 live “PBC on NBC” events is as follows (specific dates and times to be announced):
5 Saturday primetime shows on NBC
6 Saturday afternoon shows on NBC
9 Saturday primetime shows on NBCSN
NBC Sports Group will provide Spanish-language (SAP) audio for all live telecasts. In addition, NBC UNIVERSO, the modern general entertainment cable channel for Latinos launching on Feb. 1, will televise encore presentations of select shows.
All “PBC on NBC” shows will be streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra via “TV Everywhere,” giving consumers additional value for their subscription service, and making high quality content available to MVPD customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms. The NBC Sports Live Extra app is available at the App Store for iPad and iPod touch, and on select tablet devices within Google Play.

The Premier Boxing Champions series is created for television by Haymon Boxing. The PBC on NBC will feature many of today’s brightest stars, in their most compelling matches.
