Since Pride STILL hasn't released any info on the 8th match in the tournament, is it likely that the "alternate" match between Ron Waterman and Gan McGee will become the 8th match in the tournament?
If not, who's really going to be in the 8th match - can they really sign someone on this little notice?
well?
Well, maybe they've already signed, or received a verbal agreement from someone, but haven't made an official announcement. I gotta go with Ron vs. Gan, as the eighth match, too, but with DSE, you never know.
Waterman has apparently said he is actually in the GP now, but doesn't know who his opponent is.
I can't imagine any advantage to not making an official announcement if they actually have something signed. If a fighter with any draw is involved, they're just losing marketing value. If not, they can at least assure the fans that a full 16-man tourney is going to happen.
I don't think that the 8th match is the alt.match, because it's suppose to be a 16 man tournament, and on top of that, they are thinking of two alternate matches.
I'm saying that they didn't originally intend for the alternate match to be the 8th match, but they may have run out of time to book an 8th match and may have to rely on their "alternate" match to be the 8th match instead.
Maxfighting is reporting
Gan McGee vs. TBA
Ron Waterman vs. TBA
Wonder which match would be the alternate match - McGee?
8th match is Semmy Schilt Vs. Gan McGee
I think it's pretty disturbing that the show is in 4 days and we still aren't 100% sure of the way the last fight is going to be and what the alternate match it.
That's pretty scary IMO.
the PPV is the following day right?
Yes, the eighth match is definitely Schilt vs. McGee, and ther pay-per-view will air at 9PM ET, on Sunday night.
