Pride GP Brackets Shaping

Six first-round matchups for the PRIDE Heavyweight GP to be official (some have already been announced) by next week:

Rodrigo 'Minotauro' Nogueira vs. Hirotaka Yokoi

Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic vs. Kevin Randleman

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Mark Coleman

Murilo 'Ninja' Rua vs. Sergei Kharitonov

Heath Herring vs. Ron Waterman

Don Frye vs. Yoshiki Takahashi

Ricardo Arona vs. Gan McGee is expected to be announced as an alternate matchup.

These same sources also say that Stefan Leko will be matched up against either 'Giant' Silva or Sentoryu.

DSE/PRIDE is also still trying to sign a big-name Japanese fighter (supposedly Naoya Ogawa) to the GP, and will match him up against either Giant Silva or Sentoryu as well.

its gonna rock!!

I'll bet that Kharitinov/Ninja will be the fight of the night

"I'll bet that Kharitinov/Ninja will be the fight of the night"

This is most true.

Don Frye vs. Yoshiki Takahashi is another fight that could rule the world. These two guys will fight with reckless abandon. I can't see this fight being boring.

I am still praying that Rizzo is thrown into this mix

Looks awesome!

and since randleman said that he and mark coleman are in the same bracket, doesnt that mean that if they both lose, there is a strong possibility that Fedor and Crocop will fight before the finals?

Lame as Hell.

Wake me when it's over.

lol

Wow, Nog gets an first round fight.

Are you sure about Frye? I guess its his gift from Pride from doing works with Yoshida and Goodridge.

I really doubt Pride will keep to brackets.

They're not stupid, they want to make sure Fedor, Crocop and Nog are all in the final four.

you think Frye's fight with Goodridge was a work?

he was KO'd

If the Goodridge fight was a work he better have been paid a fortune, cuz he took a hell of a kick to the head!!

ttt

I cant wait til the 25th its gonna be a damn good run of fights, but I really like the last event when the fighters have to fight more then once, thats when you see who has what and who brought their A game.

When Don Frye sits up, looks directly at the camera, then winks right at it after being supposedly "KO'd"

That is very, very suspicious.

Fedor looks to hae the hardest fight there. Maybe Pride are punishing him for his wavering loyalty to them?

that is a good point GoldDragon, but the KO just looked too real

frye is not confirmed
