Both have amazing chins, both can lay you out with one punch, both have great wrestling... Shit, who you picking?
There is an old pic of both guys back at some club or something.
The pic looked like they were "mean muggin" each other. I think there was really nothing to the pic from what I remember, but it looked like they were giving each other the stink eye.
Anyone remember what I'm talking about?
Haven't seen the pic posted in years.
Hendo would win

Chuck takes the fight.
Hendo dosn't take him down and losses the standup war.
This is before Liddell lost his chin and could take a punch mind you.
Should have been a poll. I'll fix this.

The iceman vs. decision Dan? Please.
Fans by epic match up of two of dudes with crazy heart
Oh how quickly we forget, Iceman by TKO!
Look at who they fought and then come back here with an answer.
Hendo got beat by shields.
Never forget.
I think Hendo but it's verrrry close and hard to call. Could go either way.
Much like Hendo-Rampage - Hendo-Rampage clearly was a very close fight where if they fought 10 times, it would have been a pretty even split.
People really underrate today's Hendo. People talk about Chuck's counter-striking taking him out, but Hendo's chin is *ridiculous*. The only guys I've seen that truly had him on queer street were Anderson and Shogun. And he almost killed Shogun prior to that.
I think if it's 3 or 5 rounds matters a lot. I think Hendo is at his most dangerous today - however, 40+ year old Hendo is clearly not made for 5 round fights. I would take today's Hendo to beat prime Chuck in a 3 round fight, by decision or KO.
Yes Chuck had an amazing chin, but the only guy that survived Hendo's right is Shogun, and that was juuust barely. (Shields got KO'd and woke back up on hitting the ground, and that was with a partial arm-punch right hand, not the real H-bomb)
Hendo would not have been able to outwrestle Chuck but then, that's not really what prime Hendo does anyway. That's what Decision Dan used to try and do but that obviously before Hendo evolved. Nowadays he's much more of a striker and he outstrikes everybody he faces - including Shogun who he brutalized.
Hendo's striking is simply better than people think it is. His durability is insane (prime Chuck had a great chin, but not Hendo-level) and he somehow finds a way to land his right even though absolutely everybody knows it's coming. That speaks a lot to how he's able to find openings. And he has a killer left too.
Nexus_Rising - Considering Couture stopped him and Liddell's run and career in general is grossly overrated due to the fact he didn't fight a dangerous striker in years I'm pretty sure Hendo would have taken him, easily.
Zuffa tried to hype him as some sort of big bad ass kicking machine yet he never did beat any of those elite strikers until the UFC capitalized on a faded Wanderlei Silva.
Funny how when Rashad, Rampage, Jardine, and Shogun came along the wins stopped. The only people he could beat up on was grapplers like Ortiz and Sobral and cans like White and Horn.
You greatly overstate things. Chuck did outstrike Vitor, and you could tell he had good striking just by watching him.
But yes, I do believe Chuck is a lot like Machida - well designed to beat grapplers because of their elite TDD. But elite strikers would give them a lot of problems.
And though many wouldn't categorize Hendo as an elite striker, fact is he outstrikes very good to great strikers (Feijao is very good, and Shogun is great). This pretty cleraly indicates to me that in terms of effectiveness, his striking is great.
There's more to striking than diversity. Hendo isn't diverse, but he's effectiveness at the highest level.
Firemansam - Hendo got beat by shields.

Never forget.
The most idiotically mis-analyzed fight in the history of the sport. No fight has ever done more to color people's perceptions falsely than that fight. "LOL, Hendo lost to Shields, how can he beat Fedor" etc. And Shields became pretty overrated too.

Hendo loves to load up the H bomb and let fly, I think I a back peddling Ice man lands more and wins a close one. Its really hard to see either one in their prime getting KOed.

Yeah, Vitor Belfort was just a shit striker you fucking idiot.
Horn and White were cans? VTFD
He fought everyone who was put infront of him.
This would have been an epic fight about 5 years ago.

Did you seriously just call Vernon White and Jeremy Horn "cans"??!!!
Completley false statment.. and disrespectful.
