Everyone knows Roy wasn't the same fighter after coming down from HW. Let's say they met at 168 with both of them in their primes who wins and why?
I ask this because BoxRec has Calzaghe as the best super middleweight off all-time!
I'm not even sure Calzaghe beats a prime James Toney, let alone Roy Jones Jr.
Prime RJJ was one of the best ever
RJJ in my opinion, Calzaghe said a few years ago, a fight with a prime RJJ wasn't on his radar...he was being protected in the UK.
Ramon Maroni - Prime RJJ was one of the best everThis.
I'm a fan of Calzaghe's work, but prime RJJ was on a different level imo. I would love to see it though.

I just don't see how Joe could beat a prime RJJ.

Had Roy given James or Bernard rematches he may have lost to both of them in his prime.
he finally fought Hopkins again 100 years later.
Roy Jones Jr. was a myth, and Joe was the truth.
Joe wins every time.

Joe wins every time.
Big fan of Calzaghe, but a prime RJJ tools him hard.
Too fast, too agile.

Calzaghe had such an awkward style that he'd alt least have a chance to win .... But if I was a betting man I'd go RJJ in his prime!
Hard not to.

I don't really agree with that, but you could have an argument. But from 1992-2000, Jones was damn near unstoppable.

you could say that about any fighter ever...
"How would Toney have a chance in the rematch....he got starched the first time...."
Toney lost by decision in a boring fight in which Jones used his speed and out boxed a fat out of shape Toney. He never hurt Toney. JT thought he was going to starch Roy and came into training map 6 weeks prior to the fight weighing 214. Roy ducked Toney for the rest of his career.
"you could say that about any fighter ever..."
no, you can say that about Roy Jones. Roy knew enough about boxing to know that Toney and Hopkins were special fighters. He beat both of them but he caught an out of shape Toney and a young Bernard Hopkins and dodged the shit out of both of them until he got old.
