Prince by a landslide. Talent alone proves this.
Neither.
lets go have some pancakes.......
seriously I pick Michael I just wanted to post that.....
Oh and learn to spell ......it's Michael not Micheal
This is even a contest ?
MJ and it's not even close
Michael did name his son after prince but prince has no children named Michael
Shamone!
Prince is a better musician, he 100% did/does all his stuff, including playing ALL the instruments on a lot of his stuff.
MJ was a better performer. His music however was very much a colaboration with people like Quincy Jones. He relied heavily on super skilled musicians, producers and arrangers to realize his "vision".
Princes stuff is so dated it's not even funny. I like some of his funk stuff but, if we're talking catalogs, then MJ shit stomps him.
Mike sold 4x as many albums. Honestly I thought it would be more.
MJ ultimately wins out, he put out more music and tried to adapt. I feel like Prince was such a odd ball that he retreated and lost touch....( all musically.....I realize that MJ was a personal mess of historic proportions)

Yeah that pretty much nails it.
shen -I think this can be debated.

Prince had a lot of guys behind the scenes such as Jesse Johnson and the two guys (I forget their names) who produced the SOS Band.
Many people helped create his sound and he basically ego fucked everyone over. Any time anyone tried to do something on their own, instead of helping them, he disowned them. He is a collossal cocksucker.

Michael spent his off-days collecting monkeys, climbing trees, and playing with children. Prince spent his off-days playing b-ball and banging freaky bitches on the shores of Lake Minnetonka.
How does Prince not win?

He's released 45 studio albums, 4 live albums, and 5 or 6 compilation albums. Mike doesn't come close in terms of "putting out more stuff".

Hold up...
Prince wrote all the songs, arranged, produced and played all the instuments on his first record. That's his whole deal. He has sounded like Prince from day one. He is NOT a "producer's product" like, for instance, the people Phil Spector produced.
I am so furious about what you wrote that I'm gonna go drink Banana Daiquiries 'till I'm blind!
Jackson, and by a long way.
Why not both?
MJ by a mile. Prince has like 4 good songs tops
Milo Kerrigan - MJ by a mile. Prince has like 4 good songs tops45 studio albums.
100M copies sold.
"4 good songs"?
Do you realize how that comes off?

and he could have put out a shitload more yet as one of the posters above said, he sold quadruple (if not more) the amount of albums and that is simply down to the popularity of his music.
Prince doesn't even come close..
