Private with Saenchai costs $8,000 USD, worth it?

Buddy from my gym is looking to go to thailand in the late summer and he looked it up.  You think it would be worth it?  Saenchai is no doubt great but $8,000 for a 1-hr session seems steep (per the Yokkao gym website).

Nah fuck off

That's baht man, like $250. I'd say worth it.

Also I didn't look at the site, even if it says USD they mean ?THB. There's no way it'd be $8K.

It is Baht.  The website just displays the currency of whichever country you are in.

Google first instead of making useless threads asshole

He can find far hotter chicks there for "one hour privates" that he'd learn far more from than he ever would training his striking. $8000 would get him a years supply of continously revolving girls. Seriously though, He isn't going to get significantly better in one hour. Unless he is just doing it to meet and say he trained with him it is a waste of money.

Not necessarily true. Yeah he couldn’t learn much new stuff or get coached too much in an hour, but if he already has developed technique then Saenchai could definitely give him some good pointers and suggest some tweaks or alternatives. It might just be a couple minor things, but could find some bigger revelations as well.

So he can teach you moves that only he can do ?? nahhhh just go train there dont get privates in Thailand ... itll be the same as training

well worth it for 8000 baht when bjj guys charge up to $300+

Smart money would be to meet his main pad holder. Also jealous of your friend!

(And yeah they mean Bhat)

Sounds like whoever is charging thinks that whoever is paying is a fucking idiot who was born yesterday.

Thanks.  This is what I ASSUMED but I figured they'd correct this on the website in order to not scare off business.

Cost me 60AUD when I did mine. No way it's 8k USD now

Is your buddy close to NJ?

I can get him 80 private lessons with Kaensak sor Ploenjit for 8k.

Top 10 all time

I think I remember the price being 2000 THB when Yokkao first started up a few years ago.

Worth it in terms of value for technique? Of course not, but if you’re a huge Saenchai fan, it’s like a meet and greet with a legend for a few hundred US dollars.

There really is no point to privates in Thailand. You get basically the same instruction from a regular class and usually get the same rounds on the pads with the same trainers. Privates are sometimes even worse because if the trainer is just feeling lazy that day and would rather tire you out with repetitive combinations on the pads rather than give much technical instruction. It’s not like this necessarily everywhere, but most places I would say.

It's be worth it if you could just bullshit with him. It's not like he's gonna make you into anything in an hour.
