So, I signed up for a private training session with Chris Leben. I was wondering, has anyone here done privates with Leben before?
I was curious, so I can kind of know what to expect.
Does he just go over technique? Or does he do sparring too?
Or is it pretty much left up to the individual?
Never done a private, but when I was taking classes at Team Quest, Leben was usually teaching them. I thought he was a really good teacher. Got to roll with him a couple times too. I even made him bleed, lol.
Yeah, seriously. I decided to get a private with him because we don't live too far from each other, plus I like him as a fighter. I figure I can learn a lot from him during that hour and a half.
You can e-mail chaz@lockflow.com for information about privates with Chris. Serious inquiries only though. I have known Chris for quite a while now and he is definitely underrated (especially on the ground). He had a brawler rep from how he likes to fight, but I'm sure all of you know fighters are always different in the gym than in the ring. I know from talking with him he is one of those guys who just likes to fight. It doesn't matter who or where. I got a lot of respect for him and definitely anyone who is up in the Washington/Seattle area should take the opportunity to do a private with him. I've seen him go with some filthy grapplers and shut them out completely. I saw him go with a grappler who took 2nd place in Abu Dhabi and Chris looked to be dominating the entire match. I don't think either of them tapped but Chris rolled with him with ease. Anyways hope this info helps.
P.S. He likes his privates to bring a notepad to the session. Helps to remember the details of what they learn.
