I didn't see the fight but if the guy was running the whole time and they were told to engage I have no problem with that.
The promoter has to run a financially viable business.
As to why he did it publically......same reason pirates dead bodies were hung up for public display. The owner wants to deter others from doing the same.
Its in the doc. He feels very strongly about making this as authentic as he can and as action packed as possible.
He wants this to be an alternative to Boxing and MMA, where there are often times boring fights because a fighter circles the perimeter the entire fights. He doesnt want guys to be able to “Mayweather” their way through fights where they give no action to the fans and stifle as much of the actual ation as possible.
If you have a problem with him trying to avoid this sport becoming as boring as boxing can be, I guess you can be upset about this? Otherwise this is GOOD.

Sage, I have to disagree about boxing. They have had some killer fights that were wildly entertaining the past couple of years.
But like any fight, you certainly have some real duds.
Thats why it said CAN be boring. Not that it is. Boxing and MMA will always have a much higher amount of boring decisions and non-action fights due to the rules and the size of the fighting space and how its used.
Im more of a boxing fan that anything so in no way did I mean boxing is boring. But this guy is trying to eliminate the (at times) high rate of boring fights. And as many good boxing matches as there have been, there have just as many stinkers. This promoter is trying to be something different that doesnt have the stinker fights.
THe documentary on youtube about this org shows how passionate this guy is about this and how much he wants it to be an alternative to fight fans that are looking for something else where theres GUARANTEED excitement on every card. There are tons of boxing and MMA cards that are sleep inducing. He is avoiding that at all costs.
And while I agree that it might have been harsh of him to make it so public that he was docking the money, I think hes honestry trying to get out in front of this BEFORE it becomes an issue. Hes sending a message to others that DONT sign with him if you plan to come and game the system and play points fighting games out there.
