Had a situation come up, promoter needed a picture that I had rights to use (I've got a million, but I don't necessarily own them, you know) that he could put on the event poster. Normally, no problem, take a couple pics at the gym when I get a chance, he can pick the best one out, no worries.
But... This was a last minute thing, he needed a picture RIGHT THEN, and I was packing my stuff getting ready to head out of town for my mom's surgery (see other thread). So we snap a cell phone pic in the hallway with weird lighting, they do what they can in Photoshop, it isn't bad but it isn't ideal. My opponent looks way better (in a picture quality sense. I'm a lot more handsome.)
Now, if I'd had a "portfolio" on hand, the whole thing could've got a lot more smoothly. Would it be a good idea for a fighter to have some pics made in the usual poses for promotion purposes? It seems like a good idea to me, but I also don't want to go to some photographer like a self-important douche.

Also, a dumber/more specific question... Is it okay to smile? I'm no Brad Pitt, but I'm damn sure no "TKO via staredown" Wanderlei Silva type either, and a lot of times when I try to look like a hardass I end up looking like a jackass. Can't I just, you know... relax and let them take a picture?

You should ALWAYS have promo shots, one online, one on your cell (Plus cock shots, no homo) etc... How else are you going to play the "I'm kind of a big deal" card to the ladies?
