have any of you ever tried doing pullups using gymnastic rings instead of a rigid bar? If so, what's the verdict?
Kicks ass. Much easier on my arms since they're free to move around. Plus, you can switch up your grip mid-exercise. Like using palm forward on the way up and palm aft on the way down.
They also kick ass for dips and pushups. Significantly harder than regular dips and pushups, IMO.
I do my pullups on rings. Better than a bar for sure for all the reasons listed above.
thanks for the input, guys. Kinda confirms what I was thinking: it should be easier on the joints because the body will automatically adjust to the most comfortable grip throughout the motion.
what about weight, can you use as much as with regular pullups?
