Actually, from what I understand...the naked choke really doesn't block the blood to the head. It merely compresses the blood into the head, causing unconsciousness.

Regarding compressing the blood in the head from a choke; I had always heard you compressed the carotid arteries, infact though what you are doing is compress the external jugular vein stopping the flow of de-oxygenated blood from leaving the brain and causing a back fill. You pass out from lack of oxygen in the brain and wake up almost immediately once the choke is released. You'd have to hold the choke for several minutes to do any serious damage or cause death.
