Question for og runners

After a long lay off ive been back to running about 4 months. Did the falmouth road race and was happy with my time. The only part I'm pissed about is my attitude. I used to be able to do races and feel like I'm at 8/10 as far as suffering goes the whole time. This race i was 5/10 the whole time. I don't have that extra gear for pushing myself and suffering during the race. My question is has anyone come back from s lay off and had the same problem and what did they do to fix it?

I agree to mix in one day of speed work per week. Start with some farlek work and your suck tolerance will start to build up again.

Mostly long slow runs with an interval once in a while. Planning on going to the track Friday to time my mile and start trying to improve it weekly or bi weekly Phone Post 3.0
