After a long lay off ive been back to running about 4 months. Did the falmouth road race and was happy with my time. The only part I'm pissed about is my attitude. I used to be able to do races and feel like I'm at 8/10 as far as suffering goes the whole time. This race i was 5/10 the whole time. I don't have that extra gear for pushing myself and suffering during the race. My question is has anyone come back from s lay off and had the same problem and what did they do to fix it?

I agree to mix in one day of speed work per week. Start with some farlek work and your suck tolerance will start to build up again.
ufc98newb - Are you doing any track intervals or hard tempo runs...Mostly long slow runs with an interval once in a while. Planning on going to the track Friday to time my mile and start trying to improve it weekly or bi weekly
