Question to you hardcore MMA fans out there...

Do you feel this Diaz vs. Daley fight would be as anticipated if it was being held in the UFC, with no belt on the line, and as one of the other four main card fights instead of the main event?

The reason I ask is, if Strikeforce and UFC merged, that's potentially what a fight like this would look like, and to be honest, a part of me kinda likes that another org besides the UFC is holding its own title fights and its own shows with its own production style.

Would you prefer a two league, AFC and NFC-type structure or just everything under one roof?

Good question. I can't speak for the casual fan, but, I'd be excited for this fight regardless, just because I'm a fan of Nick Diaz and his skill. In, the end tho, I'd rather it be in the UFC.

I really enjoy Strikeforce as a separate brand, but with Zuffa owning it now I'd say it's only a matter of time until it's all under one roof, whether we like it or not.

I'd be looking forward to it, its a damn good scrap on paper

I love having to big company's with title shots.

I think the fight would be just as popular if it was in the ufc cause of who it is.

and I would like to see strikeforce vs ufc soon or at least let some guys from ufc that get cut to go to strikeforce Phone Post

Having the two different organizations has been awesome, hopefully it continues. My only complaint is that Strikeforce has the habit of putting avergae fighters against their best fighters, or bringing in UFC castoffs that had no big wins of note and selling them as the next best thing (SCott smith for example).

Great question. It's a great fight which ever way you look at it but I feel it would get lost as a main card 2nd fight on a UFC event instead of being a main event which I think it deserves. Phone Post

Regardless of what banner it's under !!! It's a great card ... Period Phone Post

I don't care about the brand, but the SF WW division is pretty barren. I'd like to see Diaz fight in the UFC just because that's where he would be challenged.

fans would be pumped for this fight no matter where it was

on a side note i wish they would make it like AL and NL; UFC could have elbows like the DH rule, keep strikeforce rules the same or add knees to the head. superfights at the end of the year. it will never happen though

only been watching mma for about 4 years but id like to see the 2 leagues without a doubt with the ufc having the strong fighters out of strikeforce like overeeem, fedor, bigfoot, melendez, and maybe moussasi and moving over hardy , vera ,some of the wec lw and some journeymen that could make some good competitive fights in SF and so both would still have quality in the ranks . i would leave open the option for fighters to move over between the brands aswell

Can wait to see it but I wouldn't ppv it as a main event Phone Post

I'm kind of on the fence. I like them being seperate, it allows more title fights as you stated. However, I do like the potential matchups a merge could provide.

Ron Simpson -
TravenBJJ - Daley is highly overrated. If Diaz fights smart and takes him down the match would be over in 3 minutes

i wouldnt have said overated, noone is saying his groundgame is anywere but subpar, its his ko ability that makes him popular.
