what do ya'll recommend?
Quicken Deluxe 2007.
MSMoney is garbage.
Isn't quickbooks for business? I can't remember but I vaguely recall it being too complex for my needs.
I use quicken.
I've used an Excel worksheet for 12 years.
I've used Quicken for 6 years.
If you are using Excel, you must be over 40yrs old
I like Quicken's Online update feature.
I can review credit card charges as soon as they are submitted. Therefore, I can catch any fraud immediately.
I hate the online update. It always F's up my budget because it shows transfers as expenses even if they go to another account by the same bank. PITA.
StephenL change to quicken you don't know what you're missing!
my budget hasn't really changed dramatically that much.
as i'm used to counting every penny on the excel worksheet, i don't want to bother with complicating my life with a new software program.
any idea if i can account for and track business expenses (from freelance work) on the the deluxe edition?
MS Money Home and Business has been better than Quicken since 2006 IMO.
Quicken is the shit. I use it for my personal finance, it's simple, it's easy, it works well with various banks, credit card companies etc... and it's cheap if you get it on Ebay.
It's the way to go for me.
