I don't think it really matters at this point.
Those who don't want Trump impeached aren't going to change their minds no matter what you call it. Those that want him impeached were sold at "There's new reporting of a whistleblower complaint against the President".
The only place it will have any significance is in the wording on the article of impeachment itself, and like voters, senators aren't going to change their mind based on the terminology used.
