Quite Possibly the Best Mexican Boxer to Ever Live

Salvador Sanchez was well on his way to definitively claiming this honor when his life was cut short at only 23 years old in a car accident. He had compiled a record of 44-1-1, with wins over the likes of Wilfredo Gomez, Danny Lopez, and Azumah Nelson.

Here's a great video tribute to him:

1 spot is already taken by Chavez, but Sanchez may be number 2.

alittleknowledge - #1 spot is already taken by Chavez, but Sanchez may be number 2.

I also have Chavez at no. 1, followed closely by Ricardo Lopez at no. 2 and Sanchez at 3. Sanchez might have been the best Mexican fighter ever to step foot in the ring but sadly he didn't live long enough to show us.

I approve

Beatsrus - ^ hahaha would do you know...we both ended up posting the same youtube vid lol....my bad

lol no problem. All we need now is a blue name. It is a great video indeed.

His nephew boxes now. Not the greatest, but still good to see. Phone Post

Here's another great tribute from ABC sports with Howard Cosell:

Chavez actually ranks Lopez ahead of his self.

lueng jon - Chavez actually ranks Lopez ahead of his self.
Lopez was the flawless technician, whereas Chavez was the versatile brawler. Which was the better overall fighter is a difficult question for sure. The unbeaten record of Lopez isn't as impressive as the entirety of Chavez' career imo. Chavez also faced much tougher competition in the latter part of his career, which is another reason I give him the top spot. Phone Post 3.0

Salvadore Sanchez was simply a phenominon....
