Some interesting and strong quotes on Ken Shamrock on Boxing Insider;
Battalia Balamoundo: "I started to teach Ken a lot, and now his boxing is better than his wrestling. His boxing is better than anybody I see in the UFC. When he hits, he hits hard. 300 pound [man], he can knock him out with one punch."
Battalia Balamoundo: "Right now, we’re working on his feet and his timing. His timing was off a little bit but now his timer is good, he’s catching up. I see he’s very hungry when he’s working out, so my feeling with him now, is you put anybody, anybody: Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Ortiz, whatever the name, he will drop him in the first round, I guarantee. I’m speaking from experience. If he fights anybody, I’ll put my life on it he’ll win."
Battalia Balamoundo: "I teach him about baiting, he makes you do something so he can do something else. He makes traps, that’s what we’re working hard on. Always work on timing. That guy can box, he could be just boxing now. As a fighter he’s a desperate, hungry madman. When they said he’s gonna fight Rich Franklin, I was disappointed. Why’s he fighting a guy who looks like Jim Carrey? I don’t know. It’s not even fair, we need somebody tough to go with Ken, not a kid like that."
Frank Shamrock: "But Ken just needs his physical conditioning and the right mental focus and Ken will whip all them youngsters out there. Ken’s from the day when, if your arm breaks, you just keep going. You have your hand break; you just use the other hand. I think in the right physical condition with the right mental focus everybody is going to have trouble beating Ken. Maurice Smith used to say, “A fight is a fight is a fight is a fight.” And if Ken shows up in shape mentally and physically, they’re going to have to peal his dead body off of the damn cage. I don’t know if Rich is ready for all of that."
Winner of ken and rich should fight tito for the next shot at the lhw title. All three fighters are on some what of a roll. I'm going with ken to beat franklin.
Frank's analysis is a joke. It is basically "if Ken shows up with the tools to win, he'll win." Ok, but do you think he has those tools? Do you think it is likely that he'll be mentally and physically prepared to your standards?
I think the interveiw with frank is on boxinginsider or kens website, Frank also stated that its easy to get inside Kens head and that's the way to beat him and if I remember correctly that's exactly what Tito did.
I'm sure his coach is gonna' say "He's definitely not 100% for this fight. He couldn't box his way out of a wet paper sack. I see him train everyday and I know how much he's got, and it's not much....."
