All you have to do is pay attention. The violence at these rallies has been escalating for a year. This was just the most recent one. Anyone who was protesting had to know it was a battlefield. I refuse to have sympathy for anyone who went to this on either side. When you show up to a streetfight sometimes you lose.

This is the US. She should be able to go to a protest and not be murdered.

Stalker has a point. Most people would have recognized that the protest was turning violent. If those people were concerned for their safety, they would have bailed out earlier. The people who stayed were more concerned with winning whatever argument they had running through their head. That girl was a victim of the mob's desire to fight and win the point of view battle - she was part of that mob.

They were instructed by police to disperse before the GTA incident. She was standing in a crowd of people who were armed and wearing masks. They just weren't expecting to be on the receiving end of the violence for once.

Sure, but the people who go towards those problematic people on both sides and mix with them arent the smartest.
