In 2009, Ibarra filed suit in Los Angeles, California against both Jackson and Ortiz for various public statements alleging Ibarra had stolen from Jackson and otherwise used Jackson for personal aggrandizement in the course of his role as Jackson's manager.
"In 2008, I gave an interview to Punch Drunk Gamer entitled 'Wherever I may roam.....I want the Title.' In that interview, I made several statements including the allegation that Juanito Ibarra was a thief who had mismanaged the finances and stolen from and taken advantage of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson," Ortiz said in the release.
"I made these remarks based on what Rampage had told me. After several years in court and review of all the available records, I realize that Mr. Jackson and I were wrong. Juanito didn't steal from or take advantage of Rampage and he didn't mismanage Rampage's money?it was all accounted for. I regret the effect my words had on Juanito's life. Juanito is a trainer and manager of superior skills and the fact is, he helped to make Rampage a champion. Anyone would be blessed to be taught by Juanito. So there is no confusion, and so the public and the MMA, boxing and sports community at large know, I retract all of the negative statements, inferences and accusations that I directed at Juanito and sincerely apologize to Juanito and his family.
I dont believe that is from Tito, too well spoken.
SensoriaUtopia -And I don't really think a statement from Tito means much here, Tito made that statement out of fear of being sued, for all we know Rampage could have been really ripped off by Juanito
He was afraid of being sued because, as it turns out, there was no theft.
Did you not read the article? Ibarra did file a suit against both of them, and they settled in Ibarra's favor.
"Juanito Ibarra and I have resolved the lawsuits that have been pending for a number of years," Jackson said in a released statement. "While we have had our differences in the past, it is all now behind us. Some things were said in the past, which I now retract and I am deeply sorry that they were said. I wish nothing but the best for Juanito in all of his future endeavors and know that he will continue to do the Lord's work."
You don't have to believe Tito, but since you believe Rampage, you might want to follow up on that.
You argue just to argue, motherfucker.
I always thought the same that rampage went down hill after they split.
Saw rampage ko chuck live in Vegas watching from the highest possible seats. I'll never forget that moment when every one was shocked to silence and me screaming my head off because I couldn't believe what I had just witnessed and it was awesome.
Him getting his vengeance vs Wand was another reason I believed juanito was a part of his success. His ko timing was perfect and that punch was clean.
Then he did A team. Wtf
yes, it is good to leave those who rob you.

I've read this whole thread and really gained nothing. It started as speculation and is more than likely going to end in speculation and gossip.
I don't know shit about this.
My gut feelings ( which mean jack shit ) are
1) juanatio looks like the poster boy for a crooked manager with a herion addiction.
2) rampage seems to be the type that's easily influenced. Juainato was a good manager that did a great deal for rampage and made a shit load of money for rampage and himself.
In steps Dana and persuadeds rampage to part ways with juanitao ( to the rescue) like a crim in the clink saving someone from getting raped only so they can rape them themselves.
Ah I remember this at the tome
after Ram won the LHT, Juanito said "so champ, now u don't need me anymore (seeing u know it all)"
and Ram said no no I want u to stay!
Then when he lost to Forrest, that's when he fired Juanito based on what Tito told him
juanito was making him train out in Big Bear and charging him top dollars
tito let it be known that him and his fighters go to Big bear for a fraction of the costs
jackson always had talent, what he didn't have is focus and drive; he is never consistent in training preparation or execution in fights; ibarra for the most part had him on point. Doesn't mean he wasnt a crook
That's not what I heard from a very good source close to rampage.
I was told juanito took actual money.
I would say skimming off the top like the mob in vegas but was told it was a bit more than that.
That dude looks and sounds shady.
I wouldn't trust dude with my money if I was rampage I don't care how good a trainer he was.

coincidence that this handle is mandingo and that's also the trainer/fighter that rampage went to after juanito.
random chance I guess.
3 sides to every story. Ibaras, Rampages and the middle ground where the truth lies.
-Rampage has proven to be a party animal and Ibara can dictate what hes worth. Yet Rampage can misinterpret it as being scammed. However from what I hear Ibara has a history of shit like this.
Regardless you can only be motivated for so long in a buisness where the hardest part for a great fighter is staying number 1 after he becomes number 1. Its a hurt buisness and fighters are generally overly emotional and have a different type of pride that leads them to the top. An ego you can say but with one bad performance everything can change and I believe Rampage is one of those fighters that is up and down but thats what has made him great and all in all Rampage wouldnt be Rampage without Ibara.
There was a cynically optimistic relationship between Rampage and Ibara I believe
Rampage had great MMA boxing under Ibarra. He was the only fighter who had legit boxing defense, and his punches were killers.
After 10 years of fighting, and the millions that came after KO'ing Chuck like that, it's hard to stay hungry.
I think the combo of losing Juanito and the Forrest decision did a lot of damage to Rampage's career.
He could have held the HW and LHW title at the same time back then
Rampage was garbage after leaving Ibarra. the wolfslair ruined him (not that he didnt ruin himself over the years)
Should have never left Oyama
