He picks:
Sylvia
Mir
Marquardt
Almeida
Griffin
I agree with all of those picks, I would've rather him picked the Martin/Eastman fight instead of the Almeida/Yundt fight but as we all know the fight network is padding Randy's picks...
Horn!
Yes, a major reason for that is because people that he was friends with/training with were fighting on the UFC main card (the fights he picks). He's not gonna come out and say,"My training partner will lose this fight." which affects his fight picking game.
From my vast fight picking experience the best pickers have just enough training to have inside knowledge on the fights they are picking but not enough to know tons of fighters who's fights they may have to one day pick. This is why Randy will never be on top of the fight picking world imo.
Mir by Sub. Nog by sub.
"Randy's picks are all the logical choices...nothing ground breaking there."
That's another chink in Randy's fight picking armor. Lets use the Jason Lambert vs Wilson Gouveia fight as an example...
Logic stated that Lambert was going to be able to take Wilson down and control him on the ground long enough to pound out a tko victory or decision win. But what was overlooked is the fact that Gouveia had more "tools in the shed" come fight time. Gouveia had better submissions and striking while Lambert only had wrestling and strength on his side.
The "logical" pickers thought that Lambert could control the top game on his way to a win. The people who were hoping for a highlight reel finish were banking on Gouveia ending the fight with a sub off his back or a highlight reel ko...we all know what happened.
You've gotta know when to use logic and when to put your heart into a pick.
Until next time...

I'm kind of surprised he's picking Mir?
Maybe Randy has seen Mir's fight prep?
Max
Disagree with RJ on Gouveia/Lambert breakdown. I picked Gouveia because he seemed to have better standup and subs. He looked better than Jardine before he gassed. I thought Lambert was overrated, his big win over Babalu was mostly Babalu gassing. Randy's pick of Gonzaga over Cro-cop was an all time great. He been very good overall. What was his Wand/Chuck prediction?
I said on my breakdown Gouveia had better standup and subs "more tools in the shed" is what I call it when a fighter is more versatile.
Put that into your fight picking vocabulary jpm995
EM, U've been off as of late. I'm going w/ Marquardt, even tho I love Jeremy Horn.
"Randy's picks are all the logical choices...nothing ground breaking there."
He picked the underdog betting wise in 2 of those though.
those pics all look good to me, although it wouldn't surprise me at all if Brock, Horn, or Nog won their matches
I post my picks on the MMAWeekly Fantasy Forum every event and have been doing so for the past 5 years.
Here is what I had tonight:

Almeida/Sub/1
Nakamura/Dec
Griffin/Ko/3
Eastman/Ko/3
