Made his ADCC debut when he was 19 and won the BJJ world’s at brown belt that year as well.

Won ADCC in 2007 and took 2nd in 2005.

Turned pro in MMA at 18 and went 7-1 in Brazil before fighting in K1 Heroes and WEC by the time he was 22.

19-9 over 16 years in K1/WEC/UFC.

37 year old BW now, fights Garbrandt on July 9th.

Garbrandt is the 8th current or former UFC champ competing in the division right now and the 9th current/former UFC/WEC champ in the division because Wineland is still fighting in the UFC.

Yeah no kidding. A lot of the active fighters now labeled “old” are younger than me!

His ADCC medals are the exact same as Maia’s. Both took silver in 2005 and both won in 2007.

One of the best bjj fighters in MMA for sure.
