Rashad Evans: "Blackzilians team has splintered"

On the MMA Hour - Rashad Evans says the Blackzilians team has splintered, with many fighters leaving to start their own team after too much high school drama in the gym - "I guess there really are no Blackzilians anymore"

That's because the business model of starting an mma gym, by paying fighters to join, isn't that great, long term.

Rashad with some real honest/harsh words about how poorly suited Glenn Robinson was at running a team.

Talked about huge ego, not being honest with himself about what he could and couldn't do and how the fight game will eat you up if not strong enough to deal with everything that comes with it.

Who left?

I always assumed the whole thing was a plan to fleece Robinson

Seemed like a ticking time bomb from the start

That Robinson guy seemed like a money mark, jock sniffer

And then some

Damn I hope Rumble stays with Rashad and Hooft, they're doing a great job with him

I guess the dude deserved some credit for investing in MMA but they should have learned after Overeem left.

Isn't muscle pharm the same idea paying guys to train at their gym or is it just TJ.

You out, sucka

Muscle Pharm may be paying guys as well, but at least they have some sort of business plan and are doing it to promote their supplements. Robinson did it just to promote himself and create this image of himself that was complete bs

Jaco?

He bought Jaco well after starting the team. Was trying to buy up everything he could at one point. All to feed his ego.

I think rashad, the two Johnsons and a couple of other have followed hooft. Well I hope they stick together

I thought you guys would have the scoop on who went with Henri Hooft, and who stayed with Glenn.

I thought you guys would have the scoop on who went with Henri Hooft, and who stayed with Glenn.

Story on bloody elbow says all established fighters went with Hooft

Got to work with Glenn a little bit until the end of last year. It was a bit awkward, especially reading about the team disbanding from time to time...and later the main company going bankrupt. Other red flags here and there but ultimately stuck in there to see if they would rise or fall. Time will tell whether he realizes that those fighters leaving is a gift and not a betrayal, as I'm sure most of them only cared about his money.

Such is life.
