At least his agent is better than him and his coaching staff :-/
He got 300k
No!!!
VTCO - He got 300k
You're right...wow...wow.
People have bad fights. Just like how condit had a boring fight, people just throw him under the bus still to this day. He may be having personal issues or what not. We don't know his situation so hold off on bashing him or his staff until he has repeated poor performances.
He deserves $300k and that's what he got, he is a draw and a top level fighter. Either it wasn't his night or he just needs to figure some things out, he will be back either way.
Rashad is a former champ, a long-time UFC vet, a big name, and only had two losses coming into that fight.
People always react to these things like they get their base purse based on performance. It always involves factors of longevity with the company, drawing power, record, etc.
No surprise Rashad hasn't been performing well lately....he ain't broke!
Rashad is WAY overpaid as far as purse/win bonus.. I'd like to see his PPV cut. 300k show 200k win?? Wow, that's huge. He was touted as a top 5 ppv draw by dfw though.
I've never met someone that would call their self a rashad fan, let alone buy a ppv because of him.

This. He is well rounded and a good fighter bit not a huge draw with the fans.
Rashad is not a GSP-level draw by any stretch, but he's definitely an identifiable name that can draw viewership.
And like I said, he's been with the company a long time and has a solid record - Zuffa usually takes care of the TUF vets like Leben, Forrest, Stephan, Rashad, Koscheck, etc.

Why so eager to see fighters paid less and less? Do you think it will attract more mainstream athletes from wrestling, judo, kickboxing etc? Will it improve the sport, somehow?
Rashad is pretty much always boo'd when he's in front of a crowd.
Look I'm not saying that his past performances and title don't warrant that he get paid well. I'm just sayin, I'd expect to see a more, how sound I put it, "brave", performance from someone getting that kinda dough don't you?
base salaries are contracted before the fight, not after. lol. that's why dana hands out so many bonuses post-fight, because otherwise he can't take cash from the guys who half-heart it, but he can reward those that put in the extra effort.
Look I saw him at 108 in Vegas vs Thiago Silva. I started the fight rooting for Rashad and by the end was rooting for Silva to knock him out just to see something happen. And Saturday night, wow, it's like, that's all you gonna come with for 300k?!? And you're talking bout wanting Anderson Silva?!? That's crazy in my book.

I know Dana to take cash back, I just expect an ex champ to earn his 300k.

how quickly we forget rashad was fighting studs like chuck for like 40k

UFC 145 - 700,000 (main event)
UFC 133 - 310,000 (main event)
UFC 114 - 1,050,000 (main event)
UFC 92 - 1,000,000 (main event)
You'll notice that Evans has main evented two PPV events that sold more than 1,000,000 units. He is the only person currently on the UFC roster to achieve this feat.
Additionally, Evans' main event at UFC 114 remains the only non-title fight to garner a seven figure buyrate.
And I'm a Rashad fan by the way
