re: affliction advertising

anyone notice the advertising is starting to pick up the pace. on vh1 ive seen no less than 5 times commercials for fedor vs arlovski today . the last event was the same if i remember correctly i hope it does well

the whole event is one big advertisement for their clothing company. why do you think they spend so little advertising for the event?

im a sick man been on the couch all day playing online poker watching vh1 reality shows. my life is da best!!

The suck at advertising the overall MMA show!

Actually, a few of the Drill Sergeants here are big on MMA, and they always have the TV (my motherfucking TV) on VH1, so I'm guessing Affliction knows something you may not.

Think about it, for the crowd that likes Music TeleVision (MTV) but doesnt want to see tween shows, they turn to a chanel that plays music.  That sounds like VH1 to me.

thought they only did 1 show a year.. hard to get excited for that.. even if the almighty fedor is going to beat on a ex UFC champ.. and i still can't believe they paid tim sylvia 3/4 of a million to take a beating... can't blame tim though defiantly worth a ass kicking for that much money...

how much did fedor get paid for that fight? don't ever rember reading about thaT

ttt

Hojak - They've pushed this product for shit.

The only ones who know "that ufc guy" is fighting "Vader" are the purists and hardcore. The rest of the guys I know who know what MMA is and know that I'm into it have tried to make conversation in passing about an event in Anaheim, but they have no idea whatsoever who's running it or who's fighting in it.

TTT for Arlovski vs. Big Van Vader!!!

i would disagree - its not really worth it to waste ad dollars until a few weeks before the fight (2-3) and then go super hard - people have short attention spans

UFC does similarly - esp for their less attractive fight cards

they are def trying to make money on the fights - its not worth it otherwise to me - they can sustain huge losses considering how much they are paying the fighters - they would be better served just using that money for extra ads if they wre just trying to sell their product
