Re-gaining an appreciation for TUF.

For some reason over the last few days, I've been watching these ~20 minute long highlight videos of TUF seasons, and was pretty shocked to arrive at the realization that it's been around for so long.  At this point, it's fun to look back at who came out of the show and how they ended up doing once they got into the Octagon.  There's guys who fought on the show who looked unstoppable, but then flopped in the UFC, and then there were guys who were runner ups, or even less, that ended up being great performers.  At this point, it's similar to being able to look at something like the NFL draft and see who really was the top talent, who was a bust, and who over and underachieved.

Just thought it was kinda cool.

20min season highlights sounds great. Where@?

When is the new season supposed to debut?

I assume they will announce (no source, just guessing) Covington v Masvidal as coaches during the 1/23 ppv.

I first saw it here on the UG but don't remember which thread.  If you just Google "Ultimate Fighter Best Highlights Season" most of the vids should come up on your feed.

Agreed. I'm glad the series still has legs.

I thought the comeback season was cool as hell.  The stakes for the first one were crazy...... Winner gets a shot at the WW title.  That shit changed Matt Serra's life.

It would have been perfect during the March/April quarantine, but it needed a break because the last few seasons (except TUF 25 comeback season) pretty much all sucked.  and Dana Whites contender series took the limelight.  But I’d love to see TUF return.

Couple of random notes -

Ronda Rousey was IMO the most embarrassing douchebag in the history of TUF.  It's too bad Miesha didn't beat her after how she acted.  Edmen too was a coattail riding idiot.  I get that it's reality TV and that is kinda par for the course, but it was pretty bad, especially from coaches.

Second, the episode where Joanna got into Claudia's face in the hallway was one of the unintentionally hottest moments I think I've ever seen on a TV show.

It was by me and i think the thread was called "TUF best moments". It had the highlights from all of the TUF seasons. Many funny memories!

Yup, can you imagine the big names that could be in the next one?

If only this were the opener for a porn and not TUF…

I watched TUF from day 1 & loved it. But, as the years have gone on, there seems to be too much drama introduced. I want to watch the training, fighting, coaching & a bit of banter is ok.

I lose interest when these so called wanna be pros start crying about life, & there choices in life, missing wife & kids, being broke etc.....

TUF is about the next gen of fighters & getting opportunities for the UFC. It's not a counciling service, family law or rehabilitation for personal issues.

Maybe make it in the UFC first before trying to get on celebrity rehab.
