Watch that fight again and tell me how Bisping would do against Silva. Not only was Jorge holding his own in the standup department in round 1, he actually rocked Bisping in the 2nd round forcing The Count to try and shoot. He doesn't have the wrestling or striking to deal with the champ, so for those saying he can win, how?
Strike n Bike Mike!!!
Are you suggesting that the Bisping that fought Chael is the exact same Bisping that fought Rivera?
Fighters improving? Why, why that's just crazy!
Bispings illegal knee hurt rivera.. Anderson illegal knee will decapitate bisping
I am just pointing out obvious holes in Bisping's stand up, which is supposed to be his strength. He did not impress me in the Chael fight, his non stop "I won the fight" campaign is funny because IMO that fight did not show he is a challenger for the belt. Hendo and Chael were Bisping's chances to break into the top 5 and he blew it.

For the most part, yes, they're the same fighter. Bisping isn't some new prospect early in his career. He's been largely the same fighter now for awhile, and his style hasn't changed much over the past few years. Certain style match-ups favor him, and the Chael fight showed that...he has EXCELLENT TDD, and so he's able to look good striking against guys whose primary style is not striking, like Chael, or Mayhem. He's also able to out-cardio most guys, and so he takes over after iffy opening rounds, like against Mayhem, or Rivera, or Kang.
He's not going to be able to wear out Silva the wear he wore out Rivera, nor is he gonna be able to shoot TD's on him like he did on Rivera. Bisping's defensive wrestling is great, but his offensive wrestling is very average.

We are watching Bisping 1.5
This, Idk how well bisping would do against silva, but bisping is a fast learner and he learns from his past mistakes.
Great post Griffin, I was trying to get that across but you did it much better!

He scored takedowns on Rashad Evans and Chael who are excellent wrestlers.
Bisping's wrestling is getting better. Sure, he isn't on the same level as those guys but to say is offensive wrestling is average is a bit of an understatement considering he took both of those guys down.
Also, Bisping was in absolutely no danger in the 1st round against Mayhem. Mayhem got a 1/4 of the mount and was quite content to stay there.
Bisping is getting better at everything, he is a world class kickboxer but his striking is still improving, his wrestling is getting better and better and his ground game is highly underrated.
I don't think he would beat Anderson. Bisping is my favourite fighter but I don't see him beating Anderson, and there is nothing wrong with that. Not being able to beat the greatest fighter of all time doesn't make you bad. I just think saying that the same Bisping who fought Rivera would show up to fight Anderson is a ludicrous statement to make...
Take Bisping's greatest strength and what does it do to Anderson? Takedown defense doesn't mean anything. Take Bisping's 2nd biggest strength and what does it do? His standup is LEVELS below Anderson.
It's a fight and anything COULD happen but him lasting two rounds is highly unlikely.
I think saying Bisping is a "world class kickboxer" is even more ridiculous because it has no basis in reality. He is an above average striker who can use his style well in MMA, let's not get carried away. I don't expect the same Bisping who fought Jorge to show up against Anderson, but he showed some glaring weakness that can not be present against AS if he is going to survive a round, let alone give him a competitive match.
Bisping has gotten tagged and hurt in nearly every fight he has had post-Hendo.
Kang hurt him and knocked him down, Wanderlei hurt him and knocked him down, Akiyama hurt him once, Rivera hurt him, like OP said.
Anderson would wreck him.
Bisping is not a world class kickboxer, don't be ridiculous.
I dont think he is even going to get by Stann.
World class kick boxer?!? Didn't he lose a kickboxing fight with Diabate?
World class kickboxer= could he of hung with someone like Tryone Spong when he was fighting at middleweight? If the answer is no (which in this case it is) then sorry to say world class does not apply.
Unless you believe Tito Ortiz is a k-1 level kickboxer as well...
Fine, European Class Kickboxer :P
Haha Europe is where the best kickboxers his weight are! You would of been better off saying American class
Yes it was after the 1st round in which Jorge took the illegal knee

Rashad has been taken down multiple times before, and Sonnen was taken down by both Silva and Maia. Rashad in particular has had moments where his TDD has been weak, but Sonnen also is not immune to the TD.
Bisping is a stick and move boxer. HIs strength is his cardio and his ability to put the pace on his opponents.
He does not have one punch Ko power, mostly because he never sits on his punches in the pocket, but prefers to dart in for a couple strikes , and then dart back out. All of his stoppages in the UFC are Ref-stoppages, usually as the result of him overwhelming his opponents with a volume of punches, when they are tired.
He still tends to circle the wrong way, towards an orthodox striker's power hand, like he did with Hendo.
He is susceptible to the overhand right, and has been knocked down/hurt by it several times.
Vs Kang
Vs Wanderlei:
vs Rivera:
Vs Akiyama:
And of course, the mother of them all:
