And I have round 1 as even. Diaz's ghetto bullshit/grandstanding/trying to influence the judges and/or the viewing public is childish and annoying. If he concentrated on closing the distance and forcing his kind of fight instead of trying to shame Condit into it I think he would have probably won the fight.
Condit won. Back-peddled the whole fight and didn't give us the fight we wanted/expected, but won.
Don't forget to turn off the sound. ;-)

I give that to Diaz, closely. Again, if he behaved like a professional and stopped all that bullshit thuggery nonsense, he'd be further ahead, IMO

Easily Condit's round, apart from a couple of flurries from Diaz. Diaz is clearly frustrated and people talking about Condit 'running away'? Get fucked- he just wants the fight to take place in the centre (yeah that's right, I spelled 'centre' properly) of the cage. Condit clearly outlanded Diaz and was successful at avoiding the situations that Nick wants.
Round 4:
I don't know how anybody could give this round to Diaz. Carlos had his way with him in this round. Nick is looking for desperation takedowns because he can't handle Condit's movement and crafty strikes - he landed a cheeky spinning back kick as well! Condit stuffed all of the takedowns and outclassed Diaz striking, plain and simple.
Round 5:
I'll give that Diaz, though Condit did well to defend against the submission attempts. So that leaves us/me with deciding on a winner for the first round. Will rewatch, brb
Diaz won rounds 1, 2, and 5. I think if diaz had employed some better offensive wrestling he would've won easily.
I'd love to see a rematch though, hopefully this summer if they can get the nsac bs handled. Then the winner can fight GSP towards the end of the year.

I think scoring this fight comes down to two things:
1. Was Diaz chasing Condit or stalking him? If you view it as stalking, he controlled range and tempo. If you view it as chasing, Condit was in control, in addition to out landing Diaz.
2. How heavily do you score Condit's leg kicks? If you discount them (or most of them) as ineffective, Diaz out struck Condit. If you count them, Condit clearly out landed Diaz.
For what it's worth, I scored it for Diaz. But I can understand how it was given to Condit.
