I want Diaz to win, mainly due to MMA becoming stagnant and needing a major shakeup to get interesting again.
GSP and Silva have been at the top too long and I'm anxious to see one go.

Personally, I like him because he's so well rounded in all aspects of MMA.. I watch MMA to see everything, not just the flat footed strikers who plod straight ahead.
Real fans of MMA like watching fights that showcase all facets of Mixed Martial Arts.

I mean if he fights balls to the wall and goes to decision I wouldnt be upset but I'd like him to do more than lay on Diaz. I'm not sure if that makes me a fan or not. In a way I think your right OP...All my casual friend fans hate Nick Diaz they think he is this new guy, some disrespectful punk the UFC just picked up...But all the hardcore guys, the guys that have been following MMA for years and years understand who Nick is and know whats up.

If anything it's the opposite, any casual fan loves Diaz, he has a bully style of fighting where he cuts off the ring and uses power shots in great volume
GSP's style is alot harder to appreciate, it's strengths rely on solid striking fundamentals, an incredible ability transition between striking/clinching/ground phases of the game, and very powerful positional BJJ and transitions on the ground for strong GnP. A lot more nuanced, Jack Slack wrote a whole article just on his jab and it was anything but pandering -- there really was alot to write about
I love both fighters and will be happy whoever wins, but Diaz is alot more accessible and at least in Toronto / Montreal, he's got alot more casual fans not counting the seperatists who're gonna root for Georges no matter what lol
