They should use collegiate rules, not boring freestyle rules.
freestyle is much more exciting than folkstyle ( college )

I completely disagree. The best part of collegiate wrestling is the guy on the bottom is always staying active by trying to escape or reverse. While the top guy is either trying to prevent an escape or roll his opponent over to his back. It's boring watching a guy lay flat on his belly.
Ehh Freestyle rules are easier to follow, plus more technique involved. They need to get of Fox Sports or ESPN. They should be interested in showing a tape of the show.
They are on Fox Sports Net. They show it on PAX on Sundays then they run the same episode on FSN on Wednesday afternoons. I forgot it was on last week. Was it any good?
id say theres more technique in freestyle and prefer freestyle but thats just me

Funny, I look at it completely the opposite. It's natural to want to get up and get away if you're taken down, not lie on your stomach. Freestyle takes away the stand-up, granby roll, reversal, and the top man's job to hold the bottom opponent down. Collegiate wrestling is all about controlling your opponent.
ttt
I can't decide if freestlye or folk is more exciting, BUT...folk is definitly easier to follow.
How is it not? It's the style most people in the US are accustomed to.
BTW - Greco-Roman is the most boring style ever.
5 point throws aren't banned in folkstyle. they just dont award you 5 points for them.

back arches and high amplitude throws are illegal in folkstyle
as a high school wrestling coach i think i would know.
the rule is that you have to "safely" return your opponent to the mat. the state of Ohio only requires the knee, elbow, etc of the thrower to hit first. back arches are fine. there is also no "ceiling" on how high you can life an opponent.
so your saying a back arch back suplex is legal? your totally wrong. glad your not my kids wrestling coach
"so your saying a back arch back suplex is legal?"
yep...you just have to land softly/safetly making it rarely/never seen in folkstyle
by OHSAA rules it is legal. just like your standard "hip toss" which can be a high altitude throw is legal.
"glad your not my kids wrestling coach."
--there is no reason to try to get smart. i wrestled at a very good D-1 program. your child would be very lucky to have me as a coach.
Yeah, I wrestled my whole life in IL and never heard of illegal throws.
you just can't slam an opponent down, which a suplex, etc. most likely will though. ha.
