realistically...mir/brock...

i think brock surprises us all.

don't tase me bro

"Brock"    has got to be the WORST name, ever.    frickin' Brock.    so stupid.

................and NO I would never tell him that.

"He already looks out of shape and I bet his cardio will be trash."

So I guess he'll be even with Mir then.

Robin.

Will he gas before Mir though? I doubt it.

"Realistically, it's a quick Mir sub or a LnP shitty Brock decision. Those are the only two possible outcomes. "

Why is Brock dropping heavy punches like he did in his first fight not an option?

"He already looks out of shape and I bet his cardio will be trash."

Besides that pesky 15+ years of sub grappling experience and those 7 unimportant years of UFC MMA experience. Other than those minor details ... yeah, it's pretty even.

Lesnar by f5 followed by a shooting star press.

Seriously, he's going to fucking rag doll Mir.

"He's fighting a tested and proven Frank Mir who will be extremely comfortable on his back and has seen everything Lesnar can throw at him. "

Everyone still lives in the past regarding Mir. Actually even in the past, Mir has never been tested and proven. He's always been tired and inconsistent.

"Everyone still lives in the past regarding Mir. Actually even in the past, Mir has never been tested and proven. He's always been tired and inconsistent."

Absolutely untrue.

He's only had 1 loss from 2001-2004. So you can scratch inconsistent in the past, but since the accident that argument could be made... but it's funny how having your leg broken in half might cause some "inconsistencies".

He was the HW champ by beating Tim Sylvia, and people are licking Randy's balls for accomplishing the same...except Frank finished him IMMEDIATELY where Randy laid on him for 5 rounds.

"Tested and proven" is arguable, so I'll give you that one.

^Touche!

I think we have to see which Mir shows up and how lesnar handles MMA.

Brock wins by "Spinning fireman's carry facebuster"

Anyone who thinks Lesnar can win by anything but a crappy LNP showing is a fucking retard. Pardon the french.

Sparkyman, agreed. I'm still (somehow?) a Frank Mir fan, so I'll be pulling for him.

To quote the UG's great Haole:

"Mir by a submission that Lesnar can't even pronounce."

Mir, sub, less than 2:00

""Brock" has got to be the WORST name, ever. frickin' Brock. so stupid."

Short for Brocktoon, IMO. If you know anything about that name, you know it's pretty awesome.

"This is by far the dumbest thing the UFC has ever done"

You're right. High level collegiate wrestlers have always done extremely bad in the UFC and should never be given the opportunity to compete. Especially ones who had a 106-5 career record, while being the NCAA division 1 national champion in his senior year. Clearly the guy has no business competing in a combat sport. Stupid UFC.

"If Lesnar tries it, Mir is grabbing that arm and breaking it off."

Like he did to MMA wizard Wes Sims? In two fights he never subbed him, and he even had mount in the second. I suspect Brock is a wee bit stronger than stringbean Wes and it sounds like he's training with a slightly more well-rounded team than Hammer House.

Actually, he has a total of 40 minutes fighting time in the Octagon. He may have been with the UFC for 7 years, but he's only fought 40 minutes in the cage, with 10 of those minutes coming from losses. So he's got 30 minutes of win time in the Octagon.

Uhmmmm... OK? It's neat that you broke down the fact of his 7 years fighting and training MMA into minutes, but... what the hell does that matter? Should I go back and correlate Brock's one MMA fight in minutes? Does this have some sort of point on Frank's MMA experience advantage?

"Tim fought Mir earlier in his career. As a matter of a fact, Tim has had 25 total fights, with the Mir fight being his 10. I would say it's safe to assume that Sylvia today (the one Couture beat) is alot tougher to beat than the Sylvia that Mir beat, and i'd even go as far as to say Sylvia would probably wreck Mir if they fought today."

Again, point? Are you saying wins in small shows against Wikan, Randy Durant, Fremmbling, DeLaCruz and company mean something?

Even if there was a point in there, besides "that was a long time ago", it has nothing to do with MY point... which is that Frank snapped Timmy's arm in a minute, and people like you are trying to discredit it. Randy lays on Tim for 5 rounds, and he's Jesus Christ with a crew cut.

"Like he did to MMA wizard Wes Sims?"

Actually, Wes IS an MMA wizard compared to Brock. Wes barely even tried to strike and didn't even try to pass, he just sat there and tried NOT to get subbed.

Frank also almost pulled out of that fight because he was sick as hell for 2 weeks before the fight, thus him gassing on the way to the cage.

Of course I'm referencing the 2nd Mir x Sims fight, as I assume you were. Although obviously Frank didn't sub him in the 1st fight, he ran a BJJ clinic on him from the sound of the bell.
