I was wondering, can anyone post any matchups that would make you rethink a fighter who's on a downward slide?
For example, I think that if Ken Shamrock fought Ricardo Arona, there would be a lot of people rethinking their ideas about Ken being too old and washed up.

I agree. Ken should retire because he isn't good enough to compete against any of todays fighters.
I don't see how lying underneath Arona for 3 rounds hanging on for dear life with his rather mediocre guard, while Arona throws 2-3 punches per round, is going to redeem Ken...
I'm not so sure that Arona is that much better of a wrestler than Shamrock. But I could very much be wrong.
Does everyone think that Mezger is better than Shamrock?
If Ken beat Yoshida...that would be big.

Eh, Tigger, I don't know if Ken x Arona is such a strong matchup as I first thought.
