Reebok deal calculations

Total value $70,000,000
Number of months 72
Amount per month (Total) $972,222.2222
Number of fighters 560
Amount per month (per fighter) $1736.111111
Amount per year (per fighter) $20,833.33

no way fighters will make more money, 7 months of food-stamps are coming.

560 fighters????

Didn't they say that they would be paid after each event, so basically per event that they fight on?

"Dana White, president of the UFC and the company's principal promoter, added: "I couldn't call all 550 fighters, but I've been calling fighters over the last few days and pretty much all the men and women that I talked to are pretty excited about it."

so taking that into account if a guy gets hurt and or makes the ufc mad in any way and only fights 1x per year he makes what ?

lets sey this guy is #17 in the rankings.

way too many fighters. I dont even know how many different ones fight on a card over the course of a year.

They don't fight every month. More like 2-4 times per year. Phone Post 3.0

name 5 without looking that fought this many times in 2013 or 2014.

and I would/could believe that $10MM per year from Reebok is more than what the fighters are getting collectively from their own sponsors.

that's the wrong way to calculate it...  the reebok money is paid out as you fight not just because you're on the roster.

so that means with 45 events per year which consists of around 12 fights per event you have roughly 540 fights.

That's roughly 21.5k (thousand) per fight....  2 fighters in a fight and minus admin costs means roughly 10k per fighter for every fight on average.

conclusion: based on the 70m  you have roughly 10k for every fighter per fight on average.

the 70m is a number pulled out of someones ass and leaked to the media on purpose because you cant possibly distribute every penny by rank because you have no idea how many top 5 guys will be fighting, top 10 guys, etc... in a calendar year.

Zuffa likely has its own interanl formula where they've cconcluded what a top 5 ranked guy should get in this weight class, what a top 10 guy should get in that weight class, etc... and that's what they're going to payout.

there's a 20% backend but until the actual front end payouts are made people wont be able to determine whether it's good or not.

Guys who are champs and maybe even just popular will be getting their own lines... so that 20% backend will come into play and could rectify alot of the issues with the front end money being distributed based on ranking and not popularity.

And dont forget a very important point. Dana said the UFC will not be making money off of the Reebok deal so that would imply that the fighters will still be getting what they would have from the UFC take.

2015 schedule = 45 events
24 fighter/event (12 fights card)
= 1080

70M/6yrs = 11.6/yr

11.6M / 1080= $10,700 average sponsor money per fighter

if the fighter is active and fought avg of 3 times per year thats 32k extra income

This is the avg, champs and high level fighter will make more, the lower tier will probably capped at 2-3k per fight Phone Post 3.0

Lawler, Cowboy, Browne Phone Post 3.0

even if your making 2-3k sponsor money per fight and your base pay is 10k to fight, that bonus is still 20-30% of ur income, an every day guy working in corporate job would be lucky to get 5% annual bonus Phone Post 3.0

I would be curious of the number of fighters that get at least that amount per year. I have to believe there are quite a few that get way more. All these number crunching post really cant paint a good picture.

if the UFC is going to pay out the sponsors money/handling to fighters.
its going to cost them money or they take a handling fee.

Didn't Magney fight 5 times this year?
