Those numbers are assuming that $70M is fighter payout funds. All sorts of shit could be included, like administration, manufacturing and advertising. It's a fucked up deal. The fighters will also become billboards for other companies on the uniform for which they will not be compensated. It's a complete lack of respect and a power move over the roster.

that's the wrong way to calculate it... the reebok money is paid out as you fight not just because you're on the roster.
so that means with 45 events per year which consists of around 12 fights per event you have roughly 540 fights.
That's roughly 21.5k (thousand) per fight.... 2 fighters in a fight and minus admin costs means roughly 10k per fighter for every fight on average.
conclusion: based on the 70m you have roughly 10k for every fighter per fight on average.
the 70m is a number pulled out of someones ass and leaked to the media on purpose because you cant possibly distribute every penny by rank because you have no idea how many top 5 guys will be fighting, top 10 guys, etc... in a calendar year.
Zuffa likely has its own interanl formula where they've cconcluded what a top 5 ranked guy should get in this weight class, what a top 10 guy should get in that weight class, etc... and that's what they're going to payout.
there's a 20% backend but until the actual front end payouts are made people wont be able to determine whether it's good or not.
Guys who are champs and maybe even just popular will be getting their own lines... so that 20% backend will come into play and could rectify alot of the issues with the front end money being distributed based on ranking and not popularity.

Why will the fighters have no sponsors? Fighters can still get their own sponsors until July so that is 7 months of sponsorships that fighters will still be able to get. Not to mention sponsors can still use fighters for non UFC promos events ect. after the deal goes into effect. Sure the fighters will probably have to do more self promotion with social media and the like but the fighters should be doing that anyway.

Schaub wasn't going to fight again any time soon after getting destroyed this past weekend so its not like he was going to get his sponsors any exposure during a fight or fight week. Heck if he fights in May NOTHING would have changed between before the Reebok announcement and that fight so why would the sponsors bail now?
