Great thread. VU for the effort.
Brigham -Dana must think we're all stupid, including the fighters. It costs pennies to produce the gear.fna -Dana's new spin is the 11 mill a year includes clothing as wellBisping=StillGatekeeper4Life - Good to see a breakdown. Zuffa are cashing in on this, they do fuck all for nothing. The hardcores know Dana talks shit, the casuals Lapp everything up he says. I was talking to a bloke at work today who was saying he was going to buy a pair of Reebok's for his holiday because they are sponsoring the UFC. I tried for a minute to explain the numbers but the guys brainwashed.
Around 12 mil a year supposedly and the first half of 2014 woulda only been 2.65 million. Something isn't adding up.
fna -smithsamman - Kind of bummed because I appreciate OP doing the work but unfortunately he didn't use the correct algorithm.
For example, he has Rockhold making $2,500 when in reality Rockholds next fight he'll be making $15,000.
Didn't bother checking the others, that was just the one that stood off the page to me since it was so high on the list, but clearly these numbers are not accurate and do not account for Strikeforce/Pride/WEC, etc.
They are all accurate for the dates the fights occurred. Rockholds 2500 was for a fight in jan 2014. Also all SF fights don't count, only SF fights post the zuffa acquisition on 3/12/11. All wec and post zuffa purchase SF fights are accounted for, hence cerrone hitting the 20k mark and guys like Castillo already being at 15k.
Luke had 3 SF fights post the zuffa purchase and phillippou was his 2nd UFC fight. 1-5 fights is 2500.
And....burn!
Although I see Hitman Dan beat me to it.
Good thread OP. This is interdasting stuff. I want to bust on you for having no life to take the time to do this, but these are numbers that a lot of people are interested in seeing, so thanks for doing it.
VTFU OP
Thanks for putting time into this and very interesting

awesome work op please keep going and publish the entire list when done. i for one will be very grateful to see the final results as i am sure so will alot of other people.
SSman - BURN ! lol.
I plan on getting all the way through the 2014 schedule. Was going to start on the second half today but actually have some work to do at work. Hopefully I can finish it by the end of the week. I was genuinely interested in seeing how much of the 11.67 mil a year was going to the fighters. There were 3 more events in the 2nd half of 2014 than the first, but I still can't see the total 2014 # going over 6 million. That's going to be a lot of merch to make up the difference money wise on.
Best thread of the year so far. Thanks to the OP for putting in the work.
Also, lol to the guy trying to sound smart calling a calculation an algorithm.

I'm glad you're gathering data and it's awesome. You should do all the work and just post the shocking ones. I could be wrong but some of those not-so shocking figures almost camouflaged the fact that Overeem got 2.5k to main event a ppv against Mir.
Reem Mir was the 3rd fight from the top at UFC 169(2 title fights above them) but still absurd that he'd have only got 2.5k when schaub is claiming he's been getting 6 figured per fight.
fna - Some of the crazy individual payouts:
Jan 4 Saffedine 2500 v Lim 2500 in UFN main event.
Jan 15 Rockhold 2500 v Phillippou 5000 in UFN main event.
Jan 25 Josh Thompson 5000 in main event v Bendo on Fox.
Feb 1 Overeem 2500 v Mir at UFC 169.
Feb 15 Mousassi 2500 v Lyoto in UFN main event.
Feb 22 Cormier 5k v Cummins 2500 in UFC 170 co-main.
Mar 8 Gus 5k v Manuwa 2500 in UFN main event.
Mar 15 Lombard 2500 v Shields 5000 at UFC 171.
Mar 23 Shogun 10k v Hendo 10k in a UFN main event.
Apr 11 Big Nog 5k v Nelson 10k in a UFN main event.
Kawajiri 2500 v Guida in co-main.
Apr 19 Werdum 5k v Browne 5k in Fox main event.
May 24 Cormier 5k v Hendo 10k in UFC 173 co-main.
May 31 Mousassi 5k v Munoz 10k in UFN main event.
June 7 Khabilov 2500 v Bendo in UFN main event.
June 14 Rory 5k v Woodley 5k in UFC 174 co-main.
Arlovski 10k v Schuab 5k at UFC 174.
Very hard to believe all of those guys didn't get significantly more than that in sponsorhip dollars for those fights last year.
That is shitty. These guys are really getting screwed.
This is very interesting, and very concerning.
Its things like this thats going to see UFCs competition attract bigger fighters
Didn't the numbers say the pays were minimums and not final numbers? It is possible the numbers were intentionally low to not go over the actual budget per year the deal gives and they would adjust it and pay out whatever is left over at the end of the year?
I mean I am just pulling that out of my ass but without them knowing exactly who is fighting and how often they fight they really can't give an exact number per fighter until the year is over.
Now if OPs numbers are 100% accurate than it seems there would be a lot of left over money so that probably isn't the case or at least not the full accountability of the money but it seems something like that would make sense no?
Research
Thanks for the hard work putting together an interesting post, OP.
Have my one-a-day VU.
Interesting stuff VU OP
TTT FOR OP!!! i have already sent this to some managers and your work is appreciated.
Bump.
any word on the entire 2014 year numbers.
i think the ufc had this guy silenced lol.
TTT for a gold thread.
Don't they get 20% of clothing sales with their name on it too? So at 30 bucks for a piece of clothing, they get 6 bucks; and if 5k people buy it then they get 30 grand.
No one seems to be talking about that part.
Apologize if my math or #'s are off.
great job op , much appreciated VU
zuffa are scum. they want fighters in poverty where possible.
