I was emailed these articles by a good friend of mine, I want to see what the average MMA fan has to say about this... in my opinion the Florida MMA scene does not need another Kimbo.
Bad for MMA and worse for all the fighters out of Miami and South Florida trying to make a name.

" Martinez was recently recruited by Team Nogueira, the Miami-based MMA training academy that produced Anderson Silva, the current UFC middleweight champion. And on September 25, Martinez will make his pro debut at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood against another newcomer, Roy McDonald. Their match during "Rumble at the Rock" will be televised by SunSports Network, Fox Sports South, and Blackbelt TV. "
Let this guy prove himself that he is more than just a brawler. If he goes out there and shows he can be deadly on the ground and standing up, let him shine. Hopefully he's not just some hype. Let's see if he's got killer instinct. What's this guys street cred. anyway if he has one?
Nevermind just read his profile. Hope he does well. Reppin Dirty Dade all day!
I'll be going to the fights. Nothing wrong here...Miami New Times may make things sound all stupid but you can't fault the guy for wanting to do good and make something of himself. Best wishes to the guy...may the best fighter win!

I agree about bettering himself through the sport, but I just have to stop and think about all the guys that can beat this guy, yet he gets superstar treatment and better paycheck- something is just off you know?
People forget that jack johnson was a street brawler long before becoming HW champ. The gracies had unregulated fights all the time. Nothing wrong with streets to legit IMO
true enough and that guy just literally OWNED everyone with ease on top of it

But if that happens it will only happen 1 or 2 times and I promise it won't even be enough $$ to make it through the year much less retire off of. This sport seems to take care of those situations on it's own. It's hard to hide!
Anyone have results?
