Many options have been discussed to fixed scoring in MMA including the use of monitors and lately the idea of 5 judges. I actually like both ideas, but what about having the refs as judges? No not the ref doing the fight. But say you have a crew of 4 or 5 refs each night, one works the fight and the other 3 (or 5 possibly) do the scoring. They rotate each fight? Sounds good to me, since they are way more likely to know about what is going on in a fight rather Cecil Peoples and all these other boxing judges. Heck blend all the ideas together and give them monitors too!

frontrowbrian - Won't happen. These so called "professional judges" won't allow it. It's an old boy network. Is Patricia Morse Jarman or someone like that going to sit idlely and allow a ref to take their judging spot? These are well connected people. They own companies, they sit on boards of charities, they run shit or are close to people who do.
So in other words judges are just well connected people who want a good seat?
that's why Dana doens't want it left to these guys!
