Reminder Strikeforce prelims begin airing Saturday

on Showtime Extreme. All Strikeforce prelims are going to air on Showtime Extreme for the next 2 years and it will basically serve the purpose of replacing the Strikeforce Challengers series.

  • Alonzo Martinez vs. TBA

  • Nah-Shon Burrell vs. James Terry

  • Trevor Smith vs. Gian Villante

  • Ricky Legere vs. Chris Spang

Nah-Shon Burrell vs James Terry and Trevor Smith vs Gian Villante are particularly solid fights. All four of those guys are very talented up and comers.

It does suck that Bobby Green had to pull out of his fight with Alonzo Martinez. He's a very entertaining fighter and probably should of beaten JZ Cavalcante in their fight last year.

awesome, completely forgot that event was this weekend.

Finally, they should have been streaming the events online anyway, I know some were on HDnet but even before Zuffa bought SF they should have been doing what the UFC has been doing with Facebook or do it on the SF home page, once Zuffa took over they should have done the same thing, SF on Facebook.

Now atleast all prelims will be aired so thats good news, guys will get more exposure and with no challengers cards I think the prelims will be alot better with good relevant prospects.

Off topic, anyone know whats up with Blanco? Wasnt he looking to drop to FW and come to teh UFC? Has this happened? Is he gonna drop? are they allowing him to transfer over to teh UFC or will he be forced to stay in SF and fight at LW?

Showtime owns the rights to those fights so it was not up to Zuffa to air them. Now that they have a new deal it was something that was included in the deal.

OK, glad they worked something out since now with no challengers and even since Zuffa took over the prelims have gotten alot better.

More more amateur fights on prelims to fill out cards, now its legit prospects filling out cards so they have to be shown.
