That is major interference with the officiating of a match of the highest order - I thought it was one or two people - not a whole team worth. If this action is left unaddressed by the IBJJF, the door is wide open for all kinds of other "tactics". I don't know Ben Dariush, but I say he has legitimate grounds for a grievance -whether he was losing or not. Don't get me wrong, I have seen this strategy work before; in the WWE.

I see a ton of threads and videos of BJJ coaches getting thrown out of the corner for going nuts. How didn't the coaches go nuts in this case? I can tell you right now that if one of my wrestlers was competing and something like this went down, he'd know well before the crowd hit 1 that time wasn't up. And if they did stop engaging and lost after the fact because I didn't communicate that, well, I would certainly be taking some blame. You compete until the ref tells you to stop, not the crowd.

I wouldn't talk to the asshole again, but I'd also think it was funny and makes for a much better story and memory than going to some lame wedding ceremony.
