Last week UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem was asked what his weight was, going into the fight with Ben Rothwell in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 50, live on FOX Sports 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET.

@Cowboycerrone @Alistairovereem @TimKennedyMMA whats his weight right now? (If he doesn't)

Alistair Overeem @Alistairovereem
210lbs at the moment!

As 'Reem weighed in at 257 for his last fight, a winning effort vs. Frank Mir in February, fans were naturally shocked, and opined about what unnatural circumstances could have led to the drop.

In a recent prefight interview with reporters, Reem fessed up.

"The whole world's going crazy about some number floating around on the social media," he began. "And everyone states in a headline... bad journalism!"

Heh.

"How much was I for the Mir fight?" he continued. "250 in my jeans with a belt and two iPhones in my pocket. So I would say I am 247, maybe 248 - 1 pound. Let's keep it at one pound, sounds good.

“I think I lost some fat. My fat percentage was very low. I credit that to the diet – very clean diet and very clean food.”

“That’s actually something where I was just looking at other fighters. Werdum, I fought him twice. I beat him once, and lost to him once. He came in for his last fight very light, 236, for heavyweight. That’s actually light heavyweight weight.

"And actually another one, Cowboy, also very slim, he is like this:

"But he is damn strong, damn good cardio, he is kicking everybody in the head lately... Travis was also very light when I fought him - 246.

"So the weight, it doesn't really matter. A couple of pounds, more or less. For cardio's sake, you need to be as small as possible. That's my two cents. That's something I've learned."

It was then that the interviewer went there.

"So no more horsemeat?" the reporter asked Overeem.

'Reem replied with a nearly straight face.

"Well, we are in the US. It's not readily available here," said the fighter. "But when I am in Holland I am definitely going to have."

The reporter continued trolling.

"It is definitely really good, I had some last week," said the interviewer. "I was in Amsterdam. Not bad."

Overeem had the last word.

"So no one can blame me," he said.

I thought it was for pussy?

It can mean either. It just depends on the context.

Only if you are dating Sarah Jessica Parker

Metamoris - How is it trolling someone if you tell them you had a particular food a week ago?

Any links to this interview by "the interviewer" ?

The reporter knew what he was asking. It's like asking a cute girl with a pet cat if you can pet her pussy.

Why, I never!

Overeem had his best run from 2007-2011, during which he hulked up to 265+ and was an absolute monster, culminated by destroying Brock Lesnar (albeit not a 100% healthy Lesnar), and really looked unbeatable. Then in 2012 he fails a drug test, and in his 3 fight since he's looked a lot smaller and his physique less impressive. Not surprising I suppose he's lost 2 of those 3 fights. At the weigh-ins yesterday, he looked down right skinny by comparison to his former self. He can claim it's for cardio reasons, but I believe and I assume many others do to (with no real proof to back it up) that with he may have actually cleaned up his act and truly off the horse meat (aka juice). Sadly I think his size/strength was a huge part of what made him so dominant for a time, and I don't think the current version of Overeem can contend for the title, although I think he will get by Rothwell. His chin is also too suspect at this point of his career.
