Seriously, even in a decisive defeat, the guy impressed the hell out of me. He is clearly skilled both on the feet and on the ground, and he put up a good fight despite the fact that Koscheck is a complete fucking monster and a horrible matchup for him. I hope they bring him back and give him an easier opponent, maybe someone like Alessio or Alves.
It would be nice to see Jeff fight someone that is actually there to advance position. I would love to see him fight Fickett or Diaz.
I think he did very well for his first fight. He hasn't had as much time in a cage as most UFC fighters and most of the fight was near the cage while on the ground.
I don't think there are too many guys in the division that would have been able to withstand being on the bottom against Kos. Jeff's guard was very active and I believe he would have swept Kos if they weren't up against the cage.
"Very well rounded. Bell might have saved Josh from two triangles."
While I agree that Joslin looked very good, Kosh was never in any danger from a triangle. He looked at the clock when Joslin started to set it up, realized there was not nearly enough time for Joslin to finish and didn't bother to defend (because he didn't have to).
Joslin is obviously the more rounded fighter, Kosh is obviously the better fighter... especially when it comes to understanding the Unified Rules of MMA.
Joslin was very impressive in his fight. After Kos got hit a coupel of times and realized that he couldn't stand with him, he just took him down and laid there. How many times did Herb stand them up? Seriously.
Great skills displayed by Joslin....he tried to finish...not sure if Koschek tried to finish or wait out a decision....Joslin was definetly the more exciting fighter
Joslin lookeed very well rounded, and was the superior striker. He had an active guard despite all the whining about him "hanging on for dear life" against Koscheck. He was working for sweeps, submissions, and was very slick about moving into guard from bad positions. I really hope to see more of him - koscheck was a really bad match up for him.
