Results from the sold out Athens Extreme Fight Night VI

Here are the results from the sold out Athens Extreme Fight Night VI show held on Saturday January 27, 2007 at the Athens Arena. The thirteen action packed fights were awesome and several went down to the wire.
1) 3 Rounds Low Kick Rules Cruiserweight
Almir Dizdarevic (Blalocks IMB/Chattanooga TN)
versus
Jeff Haney (Knuckle-up/Team Eagle/Duluth GA)
Winner: Jeff Haney via TKO at 17 seconds into the third round. Haney fought a very talented Dizdarevic and showed a lot of heart in a very tough fight for both men.
2) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Middleweight
Clinton Creaseman (Club Fitness/Black Mountain NC)
versus
David Smallwood (Team Omega Stike/Gainesville GA)
Winner: David Smallwood due to tap out at 1:01 into round number one.
3) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Welterweight
David Degoma (Blalocks IMB/Chattanooga TN)
versus
Stephen Bass (Island Boxing/Hilton Head SC)
Winner: Stephen Bass via unanimous decision in an awesome battle that went back and forth until the very end. By winning his third straight fight, Bass has earned himself a shot at the now vacant ISKA MMA United States Welterweight Championship where he will face the unbeaten Sean Hankins on the Augusta Extreme Fight Night card on Saturday February 24th, 2007.
4) 3 Rounds Modified Muay Thai
Broadus Blackwell (Contemporary Martial Arts/Hartwell GA)
versus
Drew McMahon (Palmer Kickboxing/Snellville GA)
Winner: Broadus Blackwell by unanimous decision in a great kickboxing fight that had the crowd on its feet from start to finish.
5) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Welterweight
Marlin Price (World Champion Kickboxing/Clarksville TN)
versus
Brandon Watson (Team Lightning/Dawsonville GA)
Winner: Brandon Watson due to strikes at 1:52 into the first round. Price showed that he has excellent stand up fighting skills and sensing this, Brandon took him down, secured the mount and rained down several heavy head shots causing Price to tap just as referee Blake Grice was about to stop the contest.
6) 3 Rounds Full Contact Middleweight
Brad Taylor (Greubels Mixed Martial Arts/Augusta GA)
versus
Travis Jones (Ben Kikers United Karate/Dalton GA)
Winner: Travis Jones via unanimous decision in one of the best full contact fights that have taken place in the state of Georgia in years.
7) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Welterweight
Jeff Reusche (The HardCore Gym/Athens GA)
versus
Chris Cook (Team Lightning/Dawsonville GA)
Winner: Chris Cook by tap out at :29 seconds into the first round. The heavy handed Reusche looked to keep the contest standing, but Cook quickly took his opponent down and sunk in a deep guillotine securing the victory.
8) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Super Heavyweight
Royce Curtis (Southern Fury Gym/Auburn AL)
versus
Eduardo Farias (Knuckle-up/Team Eagle/Duluth GA)
Winner: Eduardo Farias via a brutal right hand that put Curtis down for the count at :34 seconds into the first round in a battle of giants.
9) 4 Rounds Muay Thai Middleweight
Mike Frazier (NBS Gym/Raleigh NC)
versus
Josh Shaddock (Bulldog Kickboxing/Snellville GA)
Winner: Mike Frazier via unanimous decision in a 4 round full rules muay thai bout with elbows.
10) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Welterweight
Lawson McClure (Island Boxing/Hilton Head SC)
versus
Nick Wright (Team Omega Strike/Gainesville GA)
Winner: Lawson McClure due to tap out at 1:12 into the first round.
11) 3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Middleweight
Tim Boyle (Blalocks IMB/Chattanooga TN)
versus
John Paul Watson (Team Lightning/Dawsonville GA)
Winner: John Paul Watson due to tap out at 3:12 into the first round of a fantastic slug fest where Tim Boyle immediately rocked John Paul with a heavy knee to the chin and almost had him out, but eventually Watson recovered, stunned Boyle with a heavy right hand, got the mount and pummeled Boyle causing him to tap out.
12) Semi Main Event:
3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight
Vern Ruffner (The HardCore Gym/Athens GA)
versus
Shane Davis (Club Fitness/Marion NC)
Winner: Vern Ruffner by exciting tap out victory at 2:31 into the first round. The greatly improved Ruffner is quickly becoming a standout in the Heavyweight mixed martial arts scene.
13) Main Event:
3 Rounds Mixed Martial Arts Welterweight
Jeff Powell (Blalocks IMB/Chattanooga TN)
versus
Kenny Foster (Knuckle Up Fitness/Kennesw GA)
Winner: Jeff Powell by vicious head kick Knockout at 2:45 seconds into the second round capping off one of the best main events in Extreme Fight Night History.
