Review of Gladiator mouthguards

With all the threads lately on this topic, I thought I would give my opinion on Gladiator.

I chose Gladiator since Protech / Bite ME has had some service issues. My profession being in a service oriented field, it takes 12 favorable encounters to make for 1 bad 1 and from all the issue that Protech has been having I decided to go with Gladiator.

All in all it's a pretty positive one. It took 2 weeks from the time I ordered on line to the time I got my mouthguard (actually a few days more, but then again 4th of July fell between that time). I got the elite and it feels good in my mouthand around my teeth. Coming from using boil and bites, this was an awesome feeling. I didn't have to woory about the guard falling out or anything. In fact you have to like pry it off after training. They provide you with everything you need including a postage paid box to send the kit back in. The kit arrives to you with 2 trays and some putty that should be enough for 2 impressions. I think they give 2 since most people mess up the 1st time around. I know that I overmixed the putty and it got hard and didn't take a good impression. The experience I had with the customer service was excellent and the guard itself was/is fantastic.

The only downsides to my experience and it's not much at all is, that the guard itself seems a big too bulkiy for my mouth. Mind you I did get the elite which is the thickest. I got it because I tend to have a tendency to "chew" through guards since I'm always clenching my teeth and it states that it was almost impossible through chew through. The other thing that got me was the way the lettering was done. It seemed like it was just primted off a computer, the letters individually cut and incorporated in the guard. Now I don't know what the standard in the industry or what other mouthguard companies do, but when comparing to my buddies Protech, the lettering was much cleaner.

Overall, the guard is great. Fits like a glove and does it job well. Only real downside is the lettering. If anyone were to ask me, I would definitely recommend Gladiator. In fact I have to 2 people already.

spider guard, don't know how I missed this thread could be that all the team anaconda threads drove this down so fast that I missed it.
We are now and continue to look for ways to improve the apperance of our guards. But what we provided is the industry standard as far as the lettering, we have come up with other ways, than the example you have but they raise the price beyond what we are willing to charge. Part of Gladiators mission is to keep the guards as affordable as possible.
If you feel the guard is too thick you can reorder the pro or a pro+ at half of the normal price making a pro cost only $25.00 + shipping and the pro+ a new guard not yet on the web site for $30.00.
