Anyone been to his academy? What's the training like? I've understood that they only offer private or semi-private classes.
don't bother. From tons of people, he charges a ton of money and you basically do self defense if he shows up. Or he has one of his black belts teach. There are MUCH better options in Vegas. Google him online and you will hear a LOT of negatives from people who have been to his academy.
Fist, I think you are thinking of RELSON. REYLSON is a different guy. Lots of people get them confused on the forums do to the names being similar.
Relson - Helio's son, generally regarded as a bad ass and great teacher. Lives in Hawaii.
Reylson - Carlos Sr's son (and Rodrigo's dad), generally regarded as being more interested in taking your money. Lives in Las Vegas.

Oh, and Reylson believes in training in socks:
Well, just check out Reylson's site.
Basically you can get a Black Belt for a LOT of money in a few years without rolling. There are a lot of scathing reviews of the place that list the absurd prices.
He has a business model geared toward people with a lot of money who want to delude themselves they are really learning BJJ. It is the ultimate BJJ Mc Dojo.
One never sees Reylson students in competitions...
Sir Taps - Relson - Helio's son, generally regarded as a bad ass and great teacher. Lives in Hawaii.
Reylson - Carlos Sr's son (and Rodrigo's dad), generally regarded as being more interested in taking your money. Lives in Las Vegas.

and of course there is also Reyson, also Carlos Sr's son http://www.reysongracie.com/
Reylson is also fond of wearing blouses.
His son Rodrigo seems pretty legit, on the other hand.
