andre, you're referring to the sweep similar to the flower sweep?
The one he caught Marcelo with...from the closed guard. I dont see it as similar to the flower sweep, but I think some people have made that comparison.
So the flower and the windmill sweeps are not the same?

2) The sweep Xande does is not a flower sweep but a different one with a different pressure which works very well with the gi (Arte Suave 2)

And it is in the first Arte Suave, not Volume 2, unless they replicated the footage.

I call it the Xande sweep, it works very good from open guard with the same grips.
It is actually called the Rey Diogo sweep at some Carlson schools because it is Rey's favorite and he uses it really effectively. The only difference is that Rey puts his foot on the hip and Xande puts it on the ground next to the calf. I have had better success with it on the hip.
I have seen this sweep done by Marcio Corleta on Garth Taylor in the 2001 worlds. (heavy weight or absolute?).
