ricco is dangerous for any HW if he's in shape. He can definitely get Fedor to the ground and avoid subs.
Ricco would get knocked out even faster than when Sylvia knocked him out.
Only way Fedor fights Ricco is if it's on the undercard of Fedor vs. Overeem.
Ricco could pose an interesting style matchup for Fedor if he came in in shape.
The problem is that he hasn't fought top fighters for a while now and it's a lose lose for fedor. No real steam off a win, and a huge downside off a loss.

Haha, youre cute DT Lee.
Yeah, that's right. Back down slowly. Bow down and kiss the ring.
Haha, its even better you respond to DT Lee (dicktucken lee) are you going back to that after your bitchpow bet runs its course or the less accurate Heartbroken Lee?
Coleko - Why do people say this would be a good fight if he came in shape? When is the last time anyone saw Ricco in shape? When was the last time he looked impressive in a fight? When is the last time he beat a legit opponent?
Vs. Couture.
And that was like what like 7 years ago?

Exactly my point. Why doesnt Fedor just fight Chonan, I heard he beat Silva once?
He's gonna do any exhibition match with Chonan next.
Ricco is walking at 242 right now.
KenP - Ricco is walking at 242 right now.
Will Dr. Drew corner Ricco?

Like I said in the OP, in the last 14 months he's beaten Rob Broughton and John Brown. Also in that time he took Jeff Monson to a decision, another name people like to throw around when considering opponents for Fedor. It's disappointing the lack of respect people have, I know he's not the most ideal opponent, especially when we were about to get Barnett, but he is a formidable foe and will present a strong challenge, and I wouldn't rule him out of winning as his style matches up well. I for one would like to see someone take the fight where Fedor doesn't want it.
Since when is Ricco formidable anymore? Even at his peak he would have gotten knocked out. Go re-watch his fight with Tim Sylvia.
If this fight does happen, I really hope Ricco wins.

No one in the world should want to see this fight right now.
Ricco is not even a top 30 HW,and Fedor is universally #1.
Whether Ricco can win is irrelevant(I dont think he can)
He doesnt deserve the opportunity to be the guy who can say "I beat Fedor."
Scott Coker has to have more sense than this. If this fight actually happens, it is an utter disgrace.
And lets add thtat Ricco has never drawn ANY PPV money for any MMA org in his life.
Pride and UFC eventually couldnt wait to get rid of the guy.
Hell his first UFC fight after losing to Sylvia was not even televised.
And Pride hated him for the way he fought agianst Nog.
voorhees - And Pride hated him for the way he fought agianst Nog.
Nog didn't do a whole lot in that one either. ;)
Mike Sanders - How recent is that second picture of Ricco? I hope he manages to get on the right track and stay there.
People give him a hard time for the way he acts, but (as a lot of people will tell you) when I met Ricco he was totally cool and it changed my opinion for the better. I expected him to be the douchebag he sometimes came across as on TV, but in person he seemed a lot more laid back and sincere.
Anyway, in theory Ricco does present a somewhat difficult style matchup for Fedor (to the extent that those exist) due to his pressure from the top. Even Heath Herring swept Fedor in their fight before the end of the round, and Ricco could potentially nullify aspects of Fedor's guard (explosive armbars, etc.), pass, and then land some strikes or at least spend time winning in the eyes of the judges. In the US with elbows allowed would probably be his best bet.
There's always the issue of whether he could get the takedown, but IMO Fedor may run into trouble in the future if he stuffs or reverses a shot or a throw and then allows himself to get pulled into the guard of a decent BJJ player. Ricco has shown that he can reverse even top level guys if they make any mistakes, although I think Fedor is probably just too good of an athlete for him at this stage in their careers.
This post shouldn't be overlooked, some good points.
The photo I believe was around June/July time at Bisping's camp, taken from Sherdog. KenP says above Ricco is walking around 242 so he's obviously kept in good shape. Very interesting possibility this fight.
Ricco is 2-2 in his last 4. He lost a decision to Monson in December. Why would they even consider this, if not to give Fedor an easy fight.
Maybe at the buffet table.....
