Riggs Vs. Misaki

I just heard from a very good source, that Riggs is currently in negotiations with M1 to matchup with Misaki. Has potential to be a good fight if Riggs keeps from making his usual mistakes.

Without a source dude, this shit is worthless.

I don't get Riggs. I've seen some of his fights, like his fight against Kendall Grove and Chris Lytle, where he looks like a smaller Fedor. Then in other fights, like his fight with Hughes, he looks clueless.

have zero interest in this fight. Misaki is top ten and joe is far down the top 50 ladder....

The theme of the Sengoku show is Japanese fighters against foreigners so it wouldn't shock me

Riggs can win for sure. Good takedowns and some of the best ground and pound in the sport. His standup is also a bit above average, I think. Too bad no elbows are allowed, though.

Joe Riggs is a very underrated guy. 170 isn't the weight for him, but at 185, he can give just about anyone problems. Good wrestling, fantastic ground and pound, Misaki's the better ranked guy, probably the favourite, but that's not a good fight for him.

Well, Riggs trains from time to time at my gym in phoenix. He was discussing this with one of his sparring partners that is in my BJJ class.

Did he specifically say M-1?

cool to Riggs fighting again. I'd like to see him put together a good run.

Yeah take it for what it is worth at this point. The guy that told me seems honest, but it is not like we are best friends. I really do not know why he would lie about it though. He trains, but really doesn't seem to be very knowledgable about current fighters and matchups, so to blurt out Misaki would seem very odd if he just made it up. Isn't monte Cox, Riggs' manager?

Riggs might be inconsistent, but so is Misaki.

I see Misaki taking it though.

I am going to give him the benefit of a doubt. He has been going through all kinds of shit in his life and maybe now his head is clear and he can focus on what he wants to do. No one can argue that the guy is talented, but personally I think that he needs to work on his ground game a little more. His striking is solid, but He gets in bad positions when he goes to the ground.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Riggs do Misaki the same thing Frank Trigg did. I would be curious how Rigg does with knees on the ground too.

He's fighting in March against Villasenor for Strikeforce/Elite XC.

Battle of the guys who could be champion if only they had some consistency.
Misaki's more consistent, but Riggs is more devastating when he's on.
Misaki's weaker on the mat, so I'll go with Riggs.

Like I said just what I was told. When is the next M1 card scheduled for?

"Like I said just what I was told. When is the next M1 card scheduled for? "

LoL, i wouldn't believe what your friends are telling you dude.

"Good takedowns and some of the best ground and pound in the sport"

jaw drops

What the fack did you just say? best gnp in the sport? are you high? (on pcp cuz no weed is that strong)

riggs is a flake and his "lethal gnp" has not been seen against anyone b+ level or higher. its kinda like vitors "flurry" imo.

"best gnp in the sport?"

I'm sure you put Fedor at the top, but despite completely unloading on guys for 20 minutes, he does not stop them. Riggs has KO'd guys cold with punches on the ground from inside their guard, smashed Doerkson quickly (from guard), etc.

Regardless of the level of his opponents, yes, Joe Riggs has more damaging strikes on the ground than almost anybody.
