He was the reason I started training MMA in 2005. The highlight film I watched of him was simply amazing to me. Then I found out he was from Arizona too and I was instantly a lifelong fan. Hated to see him lose his UFC debut, but at least it was to another legend. I hyped him up to my buddies for years before he finally came to the US. Damn. This hurts bad fellas. I always hoped to meet him in AZ as we have mutual friends and visited often. Wanted to shake his hand and let him know how much he changed/affected my life back in my early 20’s. He gave me hope that I could be a Bad ass too, even if I never made it to that level. REST EASY KID.
