RIP Matthew Saad Muhammed

A true blood & guts warrior took a ten count today. He was Arturo Gatti before Arturo Gatti began fighting and is one of the men responsible for me becoming a lifelong fight fan. RIP Champ. http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/340217-matthew-saad-muhammad-dies-at-59

Sad news.

I remember when his name was Matthew Franklin.

"When I was five years old, I was living with an aunt after my mother died. They did not have the money to care for me. My aunt told my older brother to take me out on the street and leave me there. He took me out in the city, where I wouldn't know where I was or how to find my way home, and ran away from me. I tried to run after him. I ran as fast as I could. I was five years old, and I was running for my life. But I couldn't keep up.  I was alone on the streets. I was so scared. A police officer found me, and asked me my name. I told her I didn't know my name. Catholic Services took me in. The nuns named me Matthew Franklin. Matthew, from the Bible, and Franklin because they found me on the Ben Franklin Parkway. Fuck, I never knew that. RIP champ.

Rest in peace to a great blood and guts warrior.

Moving article, sucks that his savings got scammed from him after a childhood like that. Phone Post 3.0

I loved his fights with Qwai. Win or lose the guy brought it. I know he'd been on hard times.

Aww horrible news. Guy was in some epic battles. He had it horrible coming up, and was in some of the toughest fights you could ever see. Man, I hope he had some happiness in his troubled. Sad to hear.

he had some epic bout against Lopez,Marvin Johnson,Eddie Gregory and even had an MMA fight RIP to a true warrior

It seemed like he wasn't good and warmed up until he was bleeding and / or dropped. Once he was, you'd better watch out because he was coming at you HARD!

wow, he was one of the first guys i used to watch as a kid on saturdays. he was really a warrior
