Rip stop pants...

Ripped in less than 6 months. Anybody else had issues with them? Phone Post

I have not had a problem because I refuse to buy a gi that has rip stop pants. Mostly because everyone I know who has a gi with rip stop pants, has had the pants rip. Try the koral light if you are looking for a lighter gi. The pants are lighter, but still made of cotton. Phone Post

I've been using them for over a year, no ripping yet. (Knock on wood.)

I had 2 SYR pair rip. I have has a pair of Atamas that have been going strong for a long time though. Phone Post

my atama are going over 1 year+ and gameness feather pants going 8 months+ np with either pair. Infact, i really like both. Not a fan of the atama ultra lite gi top tho.

I have the Gameness feather, ripped directly on the bottom of the crotch....BEEP. I do like the gi so hopefully it is an anomaly. Time to jump back in my platinum weave for a while. Thanks guys Phone Post

Never hear a bad thing said about the Atama ripstops, but there are loads of stories about ripstop pants from other brands tearing, often at the seams .

gameness air pants ripped, replacements ripped.

ripstop collar was horribly frayed within 6 months.

Kauai Kimonos 100% Ripstop Gi... 18 months with consistent wear... NO ripping. The gi is still in great shape. I did not give it this much credit when I bought it!!!!! Phone Post

Same here but 14 months of use and no wear at all.  I just bought another one.

atama mundial 9 has no rips in the pants after over a year of use and its my favorite gi so i wear it more often than my other 2 cotton pants that i have immense trouble tightening around my waist.

My atama mundial 9 pants ripped in two weeks, replaced with keiko pants.

Jiu Jitsu Pro Gear Rip Stop pants ripped after just two weeks of light use. I only wore them 4 or 5 times. I'm going back to cotton.

I have 2 sets of Pride ripstop pants, one from Brasil last year and one from this year. Both are going fine albeit shrunk a little and I have had a few threads crack, but no tears..

]Bigwormy - Haha, my model 9 pants ripped the first time I wore them. So yeah, Atama ripstop sucks just like all the rest. My killer bee ripstop pants lasted the longest at 8 months.

I take back my comment about never hearing bad things about the Atama ripstop pants lol

Kauai pants about a year old, trained in them all the time. No rips or wear whatsoever.

My Ouano rip stop have a tear in them. I hate rip stop gi pants now after wearing some, they go way too stiff when wet. If I was the IBJJF I'd ban them as they're too difficult to grab hold of too.

Agreed. They feel weird when wet, and considering that the IBJJF have banned jackets made from that type of ripstop fabric, I'm surprised they didn't ban the pants as well.

KillerBee are the best ripstop pants I have had so far.

They are a bit thicker and softer than Atama or Gameness, and not as heavy as the thick ripstop from Hayabusa, etc. The stitching and finish is also quite a bit better than the others.
